I took my baby niece out for breakfast today, and the staff had no problem ensuring that we felt unwelcome by the opening servers. We were not treated kindly, thank God I left when I did because there was certainly a lot of food I wanted to try.

Bloody Mary’s ok - sliders ok - scrambled eggs were from a tin at Hampton Inn breakfast buffet - they were bad and sent back x 2 people in our group. Best things were waitress who was super sweet and tater tots.

I really hope we just stopped by at a bad time. When we walked into the bar on a Saturday afternoon during a downtown festival, the restaurant was mostly empty, the bar was empty, but it was a mess. Not a single seat at the bar didn't have dirty dishes in front of it. The bartender told us he hadn't had time to clean it up yet and we would get better service at a table.
So to a table we went and we waited. And waited. We were eventually served and took our time drinking our beers, but were surprised that as we finished our beers the bar was still mostly a mess. If I wanted to see a mess I could stay home.
Again, maybe ours was bad timing. Maybe we'd just missed a huge party. Maybe they were understaffed.
We'll stop by again and I hope it's at least three stars.

Best vegan burgers in Metro Detroit. The tiny pickle with the special sauce, addictive??

Birthday lunch with co-worker was very chill with great food.
We both have dietary restrictions, so the abundance of gluten free and vegan options was a major plus.
Fries were a bit stringy (not enough substance for me), but were seasoned nicely.
Black bean slider was awesome and the perfect size!
Prices were also amazing! $5 sliders, $6 for a very full Michigan Cherry salad (that was dinner for the evening)...
Looking forward to returning!
Vegetarian options: Black bean burgers, Vegetarian burger, Beyond meats
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and Vegan buns and other options
Parking: Was able to find free street parking on opposite side of restaurant street. Meters on restaurant side. Paid lot behind restaurant.

Would not recommend. Went during the Dream Cruise and thought we lucked out by finding a table - pretty clear why it was empty shortly after. Sat at a dirty table for 15mins before it was bused/cleaned. Had to wait another 5mins for menus. Food came out before drinks, sat another 20+ minutes before the drinks came out one by one. All in all waited over 50 minutes for our drinks asked for them to be removed from the bill and they refused because we drank them. Extremely poor service.
People behind us waited longer than us for two canned beers but they were able to take it off the bill. And they were not busy at all.

Great atmosphere and vibe. Food was great. You can order single slider or several of you like and get different ones for variety. My wife enjoyed the shredded chicken with bbq and fried onions. I had the classic which was terrific and the WAB which was equally amazing. The drinks are fabulous too. Either a wonderful cocktail or a simple whiskey and coke, they have an extensive liquor menu and are masters at crafting a tasty cocktail. We will definitely return next time we go back to Magic Bag for another show!

Food has been good in my opinion. A bit on the pricey side especially for mostly fancy bar food, i.e. burgers, many fried items, etc. I’ve had long waits especially on week days even when there may have been 4 tables seated in the whole place. Bonus for vegetarians and vegans but they are pricey. Drinks are good but what you would find at most restaurants/bars. However, for the price you would think they would use elevated cocktail garnishes, i.e. Bordeaux cocktail cherries for a Manhattan that costs $14+ Emory is not an inherently bad bar/restaurant, but I do prefer others in the area over here. Mainly due to pricing and service. I understand it’s hard to get service/kitchen staff but it should not take 45 minutes for a cheeseburger and fries with 11 costumers in the restaurant. This was my experience when I last patronized this restaurant in April of 2024.
Vegetarian options: There are vegan/vegetarian options clearly labeled on the menu.
Parking: Parking on the street and the surrounding lots around the restaurant are paid. I would highly recommend downloading the Ferndale parking app before heading downtown to make your parking a lot easier.
