Drinks are fantastic here! Have not tried the food and heard it is a very small menu on selected day but if you are looking for well crafted cocktails, you've found the right place! I have only been here twice but so far the Basil Smash (not pictured) and the Coffee Espresso Martini are both absolutely delicious.

Hands down one of the best cocktail lounges in Metro Detroit. Great cocktails, service, food, atmosphere. You name it. They do it right. With so many new places popping up that simply don't get it, Belle's does it right. It's the Valentine Distilling tasting room, so you can find all of the amazing spirits here. It's no wonder why they've been around as long as they have.

I recently attended a high-profile business brunch at a nearby cafe and decided that while I was in the area, I would stop at a local establishment for a gentleman's beverage before returning home. As I strolled down the boulevard, I saw an elegant but unpretenious lounge beckoning me to draw near. I walked through the door and was instantly greeted by the warm, beautiful faces of the barstaff, who ushered me to a premium seat on a nearby loungecouch. The enviornment was classy, making me feel princely and at peace. I ordered a cocktail, the 100 year old cigar, and a handsome mustachioed man delivered it with panache. I consider myself the utmost authority on all cocktails everywhere, but this beverage took me by surprise. The aromatic notes of the Italian Amaro blended perfectly with the bourbon and absinthe, forming not simply an experience, but masterwork in a glass. I was taken aback, and completely smitten. I phoned my wife to tell her of my newfound joy, but had to leave a voice-mail as she was still busy having her eyebrows dyed. I concluded my sips and walked into the bright sunshine of the day, knowing that I had found not only my new favorite lounge, but a higher appreciation of what can be done when passion and elegance meet.
5 stars simply does not suffice, I would give it all the stars in the night sky if my arms would reach.

I have come here many times over the years and I have always had a decent time. I came here for my birthday early July, on a pretty quiet night with 7 friends. We absolutely loved the low key, comfortable atmosphere, but unfortunately the service was terrible. I understand in a craft bar, drink prep takes time. However on a weekend that was pretty quiet it took about 40 minutes for our drinks. Still not a huge deal, however a few were incorrect. When asking for tab, we were told they could not split checks if 6 or over. I've been here many times and have never been told this: still no big deal but I would have at least mentioned at the time of seating. To be fair we were told to have a seat anywhere and didn't have a specific host, but a head's up would've been appreciated. A few of our friends have never been to Valentine and did not come prepared for this, and rightfully so were shocked when told at the end. I asked the server if she could please split the tab as we were unaware and that some friends were unprepared and I was met with attitude. We all tip 20% or more, but we had a gratuity added automatically without being told as we were at the last restaurant we just left. I had a friend pay with $50 for a $16 cocktail and was not given change, so after 20 minutes she had to ask for it. I've always loved this place but have never had an experience like this. I invited a few people that have never been here before and was pretty embarrassed, by the service as well as the wait. Unfortunately the drinks were not even the quality they were it the past, and unfortunately I no longer want to return because of the experience.

I love valentines. But we had an awful experience. My mother had just lost her mom and was crying after we discussed some amazing memories, as is expected. We tried to order another drink and they wouldn’t allow us. Even AFTER explaining our situation. I’ve never been more disrespected in a sensitive situation in my life. I worked in the industry for multiple years and would have never handled a situation this way. We were not overly intoxicated in any way. I am incredibly disappointed. This will be my last time stepping foot here.

Hot damn it was good! Always love coming here.
