I have come here many times over the years and I have always had a decent time. I came here for my birthday early July, on a pretty quiet night with 7 friends. We absolutely loved the low key, comfortable atmosphere, but unfortunately the service was terrible. I understand in a craft bar, drink prep takes time. However on a weekend that was pretty quiet it took about 40 minutes for our drinks. Still not a huge deal, however a few were incorrect. When asking for tab, we were told they could not split checks if 6 or over. I've been here many times and have never been told this: still no big deal but I would have at least mentioned at the time of seating. To be fair we were told to have a seat anywhere and didn't have a specific host, but a head's up would've been appreciated. A few of our friends have never been to Valentine and did not come prepared for this, and rightfully so were shocked when told at the end. I asked the server if she could please split the tab as we were unaware and that some friends were unprepared and I was met with attitude. We all tip 20% or more, but we had a gratuity added automatically without being told as we were at the last restaurant we just left. I had a friend pay with $50 for a $16 cocktail and was not given change, so after 20 minutes she had to ask for it. I've always loved this place but have never had an experience like this. I invited a few people that have never been here before and was pretty embarrassed, by the service as well as the wait. Unfortunately the drinks were not even the quality they were it the past, and unfortunately I no longer want to return because of the experience.

I love valentines. But we had an awful experience. My mother had just lost her mom and was crying after we discussed some amazing memories, as is expected. We tried to order another drink and they wouldn’t allow us. Even AFTER explaining our situation. I’ve never been more disrespected in a sensitive situation in my life. I worked in the industry for multiple years and would have never handled a situation this way. We were not overly intoxicated in any way. I am incredibly disappointed. This will be my last time stepping foot here.

One the best cocktail experiences around. Mayor Pingree single barrel is excellent value especially given scarcity outside of Michigan.

Just had cocktails. There was a wedding party that was getting a little rowdy outside of their designated area and the manager comped us a round due to the disturbance. Much appreciated, will be back.

A charming and inviting cocktail spot with superb drink recipes. I had the Old Fashioned and was very impressed. Great service as well. I'll definitely make this a regular place.

We had our Detroit wedding reception here in the private event space in the back. We could not have been more pleased with our experience! Heather, the manager, was attentive and professional from the initial meeting about renting the space, all of the planning and throughout the event. All of the staff were so fun and kind! They kept everything organized and the drinks flowing during the reception. We had a wonderful experience here and we are so glad we chose this as our venue! We can’t wait to come back on our next visit just to enjoy the dope atmosphere and great drinks! Thanks Heather and team for everything!

Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs or anything to move throughout the building or even into the building. Boebert, there is a single step up into the door of the building.

Super great place to have a party. Had our wedding reception here. We scheduled and planned everything from out of state so the staff was super helpful with coordinating everything. They are also super flexible with timing of the party too as we extended an hour. Pricing was also super reasonable

Lovely outdoor seating area. I enjoyed my first (and second) spicy pickle martini. Highly recommend! The appetizers were also tasty. Service was a tad slow for the number of customers. However, everything was delicious and well-prepared.

Ever since all of the staff that was there for years all left at once, it changed, everything went downhill. Cocktail quality, friendless, etc
