After a long time, I was finally able to come in on a day when it was open to try it out. Sadly, the final product did not completely live up to the expectation. I hear they are or were the best burgers in town. It wasn't bad, but I had more flavorful burgers from other places, whether coney islands or Culvers (etc.). The fries, even when I put salt on them, were on the bland side, I did not finish those. The service was really nice. I could felt she wanted me to have a good meal/experience there. I probably would not go back, at least not on my own. There are just too many options to go get a better burger and fries from.
It's a bar that changes with the time. And, it's been around a long, long time. The food is good. The hamburgers and accompanying fries, onion rings, etc., are very good. You can smell the history of the place in the air. And that is not a bad thing.

Do not go here if you have the rare case of having a vertical license over the age of 21. The misinformed manager will refuse you service and argue with you about it instead of just dropping it. Me or none of my friends will ever go here ever again. Train your staff better.
