For years, a great place. Good food and smiling faces. Now, the decline is palpable. Today, the attitude from the owner was shocking and inexcusable. I understand that everyone has a bad day, but to be waved off with a summary dismissal... I will not return. What a shame.

Everything was really good! The only complaint is that it was quite stuffy and warm. It could've been a little more comfortable while we enjoyed eating the delicious food.

Didnt get a chance to even try their food because of how rude they are. They purposely make you wait & wont clean a table off for you. I’ve noticed its more specifically towards people of color. Patience gets you nowhere here. I like to give places 2nd chances, in this case I gave it 3 chances & walked out with no food lol. Also if you are freezing cold or extremely hot needing to stand inside the restaurant while you wait to get your vehicle a jump or waiting on ride because your vehicle broke down, they wont let you unless you buy something. Pretty sad. Me & my people of color will continue going to GJ’s where we are all loved and welcomed there.

Being in this area my whole life, I'd been wanting to try this place for so many years now. The hours are limited, so it's always been needing to be the right time and place to stop in. My family and I were certainly glad we did! Food and service were excellent. And it was so refreshing to be in an atmosphere that wasn't playing any music. An establishment like that is certainly hard to find! Be aware that they are cash only. If you're local, I recommended giving this restaurant a go!

Menka's Kitchen has been serving homemade breakfast and lunch for 45 years! (And yes, they have butter in a bowl on the table).
First, they are Cash Only. (Keeping prices low by avoiding credit card fees).
Split Pea Soup - thick and creamy, not too salty. Good stuff.
Hash Browns - homemade and cooked all the way through.
Veal Cutlet - classic oval piece of breaded, ground veal. Smothered with brown gravy.
Veal Parmesan - classic oval piece of breaded, ground veal. Served with pasta and tomato sauce. Tangy with well cooked pasta.
Tossed Salad - fresh with homemade Ranch dressing.
I know one of the reviews said they didn't have butter, but there was an entire bowl of it on each table.
Service was super attentive; my coffee never got below a half cup.
