I come to this great place about once per month and have been working my way through the menu, mostly the Thai side! Fabulous food and a very friendly owner! Here are the drunken noodles I tried tonight!

We wanted to try this place, but after a two hour drive we decided against it after driving by. Their door clearly state that they have “ No Public Restrooms”, in fact that sign is larger than the name of the restaurant.

Bamboo is my favorite place to order Chinese food! My husband usually gets the sesame chicken and noodles. I get the princess with chicken, fried rice, and mild sauce. My kiddos love the egg drop soup and crab wontons and usually share with my husband or I. Perfect for the whole family! The employees are amazing every time we go there, our meal is always done within 30 minutes, and the restaurant is ALWAYS clean. Highly recommend!!Dietary restrictions: My daughter is not able to eat any dairy products due to a metabolic disorder. Bamboo's menu has many options for her!

This was the first time our family of 6 went here and it was a very weird experience. We asked for a pot of hot tea for the table and they brought us each a $2 cup of tea with a tea bag, not what we asked for... but also nowhere to put the used tea bags other than right on the table. In case they don't know, if tea steeps too long it becomes very bitter. On the menu it says "no substitutions. You are responsible for what is ordered. NO REFUNDS!", which seems really defensive, so be forewarned. We ordered lunch and it says right on the menu "All entrees come with rice and egg drop soup".My dad wanted the Egg drop soup that came with his meal and he also ordered a bowl of vegetable soup at full price that cost $6. This was not an up-charge. They didn't bring him the egg drop soup and when he asked why he didn't get it, the waitress told us that if you order a bowl of soup then you don't get soup with your meal which is absolutely bizarre. I asked if I could upgrade from the egg drop soup to a bowl of hot and sour and they said there is no upgrade, you can pay full price for the hot and sour soup. Apparently this place has a "you cannot have 2 soups" policy. When my dad said he felt entitled to the soup that came with the meal they said no, they would not do that. When he said he wouldn't eat here again, they said "That's okay."I've managed a restaurant and I know that a bowl of soup is meaningless compared to dissatisfied customers (there were 6 of us), word of mouth, no repeat business and poor reviews. Apparently they haven't learned this lesson yet, but I'm sure they will soon.

I go there at least 3 times a month. Always very satisfying! Clean, friendly and good food! The best Egg drop soup I have ever had. Not thick and waxy looking! Just amazing flavor!

Some of the best Thai and Chinese you will find in Northern Michigan! You have to try the egg drop soup. It's the best.

I have been eating here for several years. I'm sad to say that prices have gone up, and quality of food has gone down. My last 3 times at bamboo have consisted of paying way too much for my partner and I to barely eat our food because it tasted so bad. Not fresh and very bland. We are now at a point where we will not be going back to eat there, at least not until we hear of improvements. It's a shame, but don't waste your money here!

I am absolutely thrilled that this gem is located right here in Gaylord! I have been across the country for work and with each stop I search out a Thai restaurant for my favorite Pad Se Ew. While I was happy there was even a Thai place here I had my reservations as to “how good could it really be?” Ah Loy is by far one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve had, I’d say in top 2! Now, I will say I’ve only had the Pad Se Ew and the Crab Rangoon (both on several occasions) with never a disappointment, I’ve yet to venture to their other cuisine. I will, I want to!The price is definitely fair, and I’d spend more due to their quality- I’ve spent far more at other places to have to throw the food away! Their servings are generous. The atmosphere is everything I’d want it to be- clean, bright, not overly cluttered with things to collect dust. Their employees have always been pleasant, helpful a never made me rushed. I call ahead and pick up my orders and it’s always ready so I can’t say anything on the timeliness of service, but I know I’d wait if I had to!!Yesterday was Thanksgiving, and with a fridge full of delicious leftovers I’m sitting here hoping Ah Loy will be open today!!
