We spent a couple of absolutely lovely afternoons on their patio over Memorial Day weekend. Great selection of local beers (and the beer is COLD!) Staff was friendly and attentive. GREAT outdoor space with plenty of shade. Not sure why everyone is complaining about their food. It’s just bar food and it’s exactly what I’d expect. We got some curds and the boneless wings and the Jamaican jerk sauce was really AMAZING. I’m a food snob from Chicago and I definitely think this place deserves better than 3.9 stars... we’d definitely come back!

It was OK, Slow in here because it was off-season. We ordered Tennessee hot chicken sandwiches. Food came out hot and fairly quick.

Very good food but super expensive. Went there for lunch and our total was just under $65 (before tip) for two people. Nothing fancy on food, just sandwiches and one cheap beer each. Nice place just be prepared to pay a lot no matter what menu item you get.

Cheese wasn’t fully melted on burger, fries were not very warm. $60 for 2 people I would expect those things. Nice outdoor seating vibe.

Here for Sisters/ Niece weekend. Both the Michigan and Ceasars salads were delicious. Mushroom Burger, Chicken Cherry Sandwich, and Rascal Ruben were fantastic. Best part of the evening was Caroline. We ate most of our meals out this weekend and she was by far the best waitresss we had.

Good old fashioned family fun, you can pack your cooler and spend the day climbing the dunes for an amazing view. The kids will enjoy running or rolling down the dunes and we enjoyed watching! Just good simple fun.

The bar is amazing for a beautiful day. I could spend the a whole afternoon at this place. It's like a beach side bar, but sadly no beach. The staff is great ? ?The food is hit or miss, and not like, the salads are good but the sandwiches are not great. It's more like, that sandwich was really good but the fries were soggy, then you come back a week later the sandwich sucks and the fries are perfect. Idk. Just my experience

Forget this place. Outrageously over priced. Plastic dishes, cutlery, dishes or baskets. Added chicken to a small house salad, $17 total. Fish sandwich with fries $22.00. Total bill for lunch with soft drinks, and an inattentive, slovenly server, $48.00. Compare to Italian dinner on a Friday night in Traverse city with real silverware, plates and glasses, wine, appetizer, two pasta meals and great service, $65.00. Boondocks is a poor attempt at a Florida beach bar except Florida was cheaper. Shame on you Boondocks.

Boonedocks has a great patio area with live music. Even though the patio was full, we were seated in a nice shaded area. The environment easily made it a great dining experience. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. I wasn't upset but wasn't impressed either. The chicken could've used some seasoning along with the cheese actually being melted. Perhaps even toast the bun. Our waitress was clearly overwhelmed and spread too thin, which led to us only seeing her 3 times in total. So we weren't offered refills or checked on after our food was delivered. My wife ordered the cod basket and was happy with her order. Overall, I would return and probably order something else.

Cool looking place and atmosphere with a lot of potential and sure is great at times. But, I will never go back or personally give them a cent of my money the way we were treated by a manager and hostess. There were seven of us including a toddler who visited and upon arriving we asked for a larger table and better seating option, mind you the place at the time was not busy, but we were told that “we aren’t going combine two tables for you, this is what we have”. It was a small picnic table and we were given extra chairs to sit around it. The manager got aggressive and calling me ridiculous and getting in my face saying “this isn’t that place, you don’t want to go there” as if he was ready to fight. He and the hostess kept talking and pushing the situation disrespectfully as if they wanted a fight or reason to kick us out. Never have had this experience at a restaurant in my life and for a local small town it is disgusting. Also, 20 minutes later another larger family comes in with the same issue of “needing” to sit at two tables separately (which I was willing to do but was also told no we did not need two tables) but that family pulled table’s together themselves to all sit together, eventually the manager and host let it be. Funny how it could be done and sure it is done often but arrogance of managers can take over apparently. Definitely a manager pride over customer based company.

Had the perch sandwich with fries, which was delicious. Atmosphere was great. Had nice weather. Service was average. My only complaint is the upcharge to get fries. Glad I did, because the chips were simply a bag of chips, not homemade.
