Great ice cream great service!!! Seen a lot of reviews for the high prices?! People don’t realize how expensive it is to get anything in this town. There is one gas station maybe one stop light what do you expect?

The BEST ice cream I have ever had. Oh my goodness, when they say it’s made with real cream and lots of it, they’re not kidding. So, so good. Friendly staff and a great variety of flavors, too.

Ice cream is really good but this is the most ridiculously priced ice cream shop with extremely small portions. We have come to Grand Marais and stopped at this ice cream shop for 4 years now and they must have new owners this year because portions are a rip off. Buyer beware that if you buy a 2-scoop cup it’s literally only two small scoops of ice cream for about $6. Then their large cups of ice creams costing $11 are not even filled over the rim. We won’t be coming again - ice cream for 2 adults and 2 kids was $35!

Great ice cream, but you really need to watch the cashier. I was planning on tipping with cash and I told the lady I did not want to tip going to my card so she hit 15% anyways. Manager was awesome. Offered to make the refund to make it right. I let it go, but just be careful.
Love this place! The ice cream is delicious and is the main reason for an overnight in Grand Marais on our way downstate. There are some other UP towns where you can find this ice cream, but not after Labor Day. The Sherpa Shack was still open in mid-September, but with limited hours. Service was really friendly, portions were generous, and prices were reasonable. You can even get a flight of ice cream flavors if you can't decide!

No kids sizes. Smallest you can get is a single which will cost you $5. Got a single cone, the ice cream was half melted when they handed it to me. I couldn't even finish half of it because it melted so fast down my cone it just became a mess. Never had that happen before. Girl working the counter also asked if I wanted to tip... what am I tipping for?
