Love this place! The ice cream is delicious and is the main reason for an overnight in Grand Marais on our way downstate. There are some other UP towns where you can find this ice cream, but not after Labor Day. The Sherpa Shack was still open in mid-September, but with limited hours. Service was really friendly, portions were generous, and prices were reasonable. You can even get a flight of ice cream flavors if you can't decide!
No kids sizes. Smallest you can get is a single which will cost you $5. Got a single cone, the ice cream was half melted when they handed it to me. I couldn't even finish half of it because it melted so fast down my cone it just became a mess. Never had that happen before. Girl working the counter also asked if I wanted to tip... what am I tipping for?
This place is priced very, very high the texture of the ice cream is very different and it is not overly cold. Although it was okay, definitely not our favorite and priced far too high. Young kids working there were very rude.
