The Dunes Saloon was the only place we ate on our first trip to Grand Marais in 2006, and it's still our favorite place to eat! The vibe is great, the view of the harbor is beautiful, the food is awesome, and the service is fast and friendly. First time here, we tried the Rock Hound pizza with a Scotch Egg appetizer - both were stellar. Good food, but it was a bit pricey. I suppose this makes sense because it's in the middle of nowhere, and Grand Malais is not a large metropropolis. Our server was great. She was friendly and attentive to our needs. I only wish the TV had worked in our dining room (remote was lost, we missed the World Cup consolation game due to this! Find that remote, STAT! !
Food and service were top notch. Stopped mid summer afternoon and it was very quick and moderately busy. White fish tacos were great. A bit messy but they bartender hooked me up with extra napkins and a wet nap!
