Best breakfast in UP Michigan. On arrival we were told they were short staffed and there is a wait for seating. The wait was short and service was better than most. Very friendly staff that gave every customer extra attention and the food was delicious. Don't leave until you try the kropsua . Showed up as a stranger, left as a friend.

Our family (party of 7) had breakfast there on Sept 14! We all loved the browsing the gifts while we waited, the food was delicious, and the entire staff was wonderful! They even sang my mother-in-law Happy Birthday! Btw, we made it to our boat cruise on time!

You’ll walk in and feel like you have traveled back to 50’s. What a cute restaurant!! The food was fantastic! And the owner was so friendly and shared the story of the restaurant. We will be back!!

This place is awesome! If I could give more than five stars, I would. The atmosphere is super fun and friendly. The staff were all great, so attentive and welcoming! They have a gift shop upstairs that also continues downstairs into the restaurant itself. Lots of unique and reasonably priced items for sale. There are pies and baked goods in a case at the front counter, and an outside eating area. The food was delicious! I had the breakfast pasty, and the crust was perfect. The fruit compote on the waffle was really tasty, and the baked goods were really yummy. We were so happy we stopped in!

Vegetarian options: Pancakes, waffles, egg options and baked goods and pie for breakfast. Not sure about lunch options for vegetarians.

Great breakfast and lunch spot. The breakfast we had was homemade and tasted very good! Everyone was so nice and I had a great chat with the owner. The inside has tons of gifts and souvenirs. Worth the stop❤️

Very friendly, really vintage cool and very clean. BUT. I feel that when you order a two eggs breakfast special and it comes without hashbrowns? It shouldn't take 20 minutes.

For money ($$$), that was hardly a special.

Just tried this diner for the second time after over 10 years! (The first time was MANY years ago, and i don't have a positive memory, it was very basic and unmemorable). However this time was wonderful! We vacation in Grand Marais whenever we can and we went here for breakfast on our last day in town. All of the food was delicious! Coffee was perfect and the prices were reasonable as well. The waitress (who i believe is also the owner) was SO NICE. Very welcoming, and the little gifts you can look at/buy throughout the restaurant are unique and cool. I will be coming back here next summer for sure!

We had a wonderful experience here and I will definitely be back.. The owner is amazing, friendly and welcoming, and the business is family owned.. the menu is simple but everything looked amazing, and big portions!! They also serve homemade pies and ice cream/shakes/sundaes.. also there is a very cute gift shop upstairs with something for everyone? I LOVED the old 40's diner... Definitely a must-stop!

Parking: There is a spot to park in front of the building, and also a small lot in the back

Kid-friendliness: Very laid-back and low key.. also has a kids menu..
