My wife and I were born and grew up in New England. We moved to Michigan a few years ago due to a job change. Periodically, we visit family in Maine to get our "lobster fix". Our son and daughter-in-law gave us a gift certificate to Beacon Corner Bar so we could celebrate our wedding anniversary. Admittedly, we are seafood snobs, and therefore went not having high expectations. It ended up being the perfect anniversary dining experience. Our server was Eli who helped make the evening special. He was welcoming, friendly, and professional. Many thanks to Eli!! My wife and I were focused on the lobster roll options which were the Maine Lobster roll and the Connecticut Lobster roll; the difference being the Maine roll is made with mayonnaise and the Connecticut with drawn butter. We did not know that because most Maine restaurants serve lobster rolls with drawn butter, not mayonnaise. Our lobster rolls had chunks of lobster spilling out of the bun. Also, we ordered the clam chowder. Beacon's clam chowder was brilliant. It was served with four clams in their shells. That was a first for us. In summary, we felt as though were we back in Cape Elizabeth, Maine dining at The Lobster Shack at Two lights. Thank you Eli and Beacon Corner Bar for an amazing dining experience.

It's a cute place. I had shrimp alfredo, which was delicious. Despite being empty when we were there, the staff was a little slow. Other than that, I would consider eating there again when in town.

FRESHEST OYSTERS! Loved the salad dressing and service was commendable! I had the Cioppino it was fresh as well. I like it a little more bright- but this worked. Gumbo had a great roux flavor. Oh get a Pineapple Cocktail- I would go back for that alone!

From the first phone call to the last bite...amazing! What a great find!Devin who answered the phone and was acommodating from "hello", Rese at the bar and serving our table, Dillon who was managing and visited the tables several times, Chef Sue who visited the table, and made sure my allergies were clear (and offered to create dishes without my allergen in them), just WOW! What a gem in GR! A MUST try!! Fabulous! Thank you all!!

I was really excited about this place, I have been wanting a lobster roll and the pics looked amazing, when it came out it looked like someone honestly chewed up the lobster and spit it back out it was awful!!! I did get a claw, but it was so dry and rubbery I couldn’t eat it! The walleye came out in sticks?!? WTH yeah needless to say we will NEVER go back!

I'd been craving oysters for months, so I asked my brother to have dinner with me at Beacon Corner Bar. When we arrived we found out that Thursdays are BOGO oyster night, bingo! Their oysters rotate based on availability, but we ordered some from Washington state. They were awesome! Plump, juicy and very tasty. Dylan was an excellent server who was doubling as the bar tender and makes an amazing old fashion. I'll be back!

We went to the Beacon for an oyster shucking class (which was EXCELLENT, informative, and a LOT of fun) and decided to stay for dinner. The food was top notch including the fish and chips, the lobster roll, the clam chowder, and the gumbo; the fries/chips were amazing! Very yummy cocktails too! The service was stellar from the host, the bartender (Eli), to our server (Joseph), to Sous Chef Sue (yes, that's her awesome name!) who taught our oyster class. Really great atmosphere too. HIGHLY recommend this place...we will DEFINITELY be back!

I eat here frequently and it is one of my favorite places in Grand Rapids. Nearly everything on the menu is 10/10. The lobster roll is to die for and they have the best clam chowder I have ever had.

We went to Beacon for my husbands birthday dinner a few weeks ago. All the food we had was amazing but especially enjoyed the shrimp scampi (chefs special) and scallop linguine! The oysters were fresh and delicious! We can’t wait to go back.
