“Exceptional place. The buffet was tempting, but upon advice from our friends who had been there before we ordered Sri Lankan dishes from the menu. They did not disappoint. The goat kothu was like Sri Lankan Thanksgiving stuffing, but the curries really stole the show. The pumpkin, chicken, and okra curries (they were out of beetroot, which was our first choice) were simply outstanding and left us wanting for more.
We'll be back to Mithu and are looking forward for an incredible meal for an incredible price.”

“Wow. The food, the atmosphere, and the staff (Robert and Ado in particular) are all outstanding. Robert greeted us as if we were already family, Ado made stellar recommendations, you really can’t get this garlic sauce and bread anywhere else, and the entrées hit the spot. The portion sizes were so generous that we have a full meal ready for lunch tomorrow. We will be back. Thank you for being exactly what two tired parents who didn’t want to cook needed tonight.”

“We found Butcher’s Union on a search for great places to eat in Grand Rapids as we were driving through. Someone reviewed it as a “must place to eat”. The atmosphere is great - high end bar feel. We had a hard time deciding on what to eat. Everything on the menu looked amazing. We enjoyed the meatball appetizer with ricotta, whipped feta (omg so good)… burger, ribeye sandwich, bacon wrapped meatloaf and of course chopped salad. Everything was perfect. So full of flavor. High quality across the board. Friendly service. Felt welcomed. Looks like we made a great choice - place was busy the whole time we were there.”

“My family and I visited Grand Rapids for a weekend. I saw this restaurant recommended on Tiktok so thought we'd give it a try. On Friday, we got there around 8:20pm. On Google it says her restaurant closes at 10. We walked in and waited a few minutes before a young man was sent to tell us that she (the owner) was not taking anymore orders and would he closing at 8:30. Okay, maybe the time was wrong on Google. No biggie, we decided to go again the next day. We got there around 3:30pm. Upon walking in, I smiled at the owner and said hello. She looked at me with a rude face and did not greet us. A few minutes later she asked across the restaurant if we had reservations. I answered no. Did not see anything about reservations being required when looking online. She continued working and we continued to wait by the door. After a few minutes, she came to us and said if you want to eat here, it will be slow service, is that okay? And we told her we're okay and left. Now I understand she was busy, but both days we were not treated with warmth or felt like we were welcomed in the restaurant. The other customers she interacted with were treated kindly from what we saw. I personally feel like she does not care for black Americans, which sucks because we were trying to support her black business.”

“We sat at the bar and loved the bartending staff! So fun and amazing cocktails... described what I liked and was made a fun surprise as the night progressed. Had crab cakes & meatballs as apps; both full of flavor! The swordfish was full of flavor and cooked to perfection with the corn risotto and chile oil to add to an amazing palette delight! Finished with the cheesecake which was amazing from pistachio crust to perfect berries. A must go! Clearly a great chef that knows full flavor food, a dessert chef with great care in every aspect of the dish and top bartenders with a full bar experience! Dont hesitate to go there!”

“We’ve been to Grove in multiple occasions. Each experience has been extremely unique. We are adventurous eaters who always find something new to experience. Tonight it was huitlacoche empanadas. We’ve never had a dish that disappointed. You truly can’t go wrong with service, food, or cocktails. If Michigan had a Michelin starred restaurant, this might be it.”

“The food here is consistently incredible. Can confirm that the mussels, burrata, beef bourguignon, pork loin, bolognese, and black seafood pasta are all full flavor, satisfying dishes. Cocktails and wine were also top notch. Cherry on top was our server who had the best memory and service. All in all a great experience!

“Whoever the manager was it was a young gentleman and then there was a really amazing girl at the front window check my time slip check their drawers these were some of the best crew I have seen probably in a decade besides the short little girl that was consistent there for about 20 hours here’s at the back window their name Danica!!!!! I really miss that short little girl Danica I would come in every single day with my dog and she didn’t hold up the line by any means Danica was one of the best most efficient back through Drive person I’ve ever seen I know Danica climb to be in a manager at one time and then she I guess something happened I’m not sure she took sick or something I really miss seeing that girls face I hope she’s doing good! Every time I come to the drive-through I always pray it’s Danica There! I will see the crew tonight though was amazing the food was good and I definitely give us a nine out of 10 stars and if Danica was there the service would’ve been 10 out of 10 but these people are right up there with the service Danica gave Danica I miss you and hopefully I’ll see you again there sometime!!!!!My dog misses you Jenna~ Dewy my fur baby~ Diesel my other fur baby~ Highly recommend you guys!!!!!!”

“Cute little spot! The decor is very old school - think '500 years ago' old school. The server was very nice and helpful. I had a flight and tried 3 meads. They were all delicious, but the classic mead was a bit too sweet for my personal taste. Still delicious though.”

“My kid and I stopped here before seeing Less Than Jake a while back. I forget what sandwich I had, but it had a big ol' hunk of sausage, and apples and it was the best sandwich I ever had. Her's was a chicken something or other and she also said it was the best ever. If we didn't live 3 hours away, we would all be on a first name basis.. I'd walk in and you guys would be all like "Randy man, what's happening.. and I'd be all like "Not much, great to see you again , how bout the weather eh?" For real though, I gotta get back to this joint, it's amazeballs!”
