A charming relaxing lounge inside a jewel of the lively Grand Rapids’ downtown. We were there to see the jazz trio led by Judah Guerra. It was lively on a Friday evening. Fortunately, for being in a mechanical wheelchair, we found the perfect lounge chairs to hear the band. The sound was perfect, not at high volume. It was elegant but more on the casual side. The staff was friendly & courteous.
This is the hotel's lobby bar, but it is a bit nicer than most, but one star knocked off for a con they likely can not control. The space is quite large and the actual bar itself is also quite large. This is a proper design for a hotel of this size. The drinks were well made and the prices were appropriate for the location. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that when the place filled in it became exceptionally loud. Overall, a very good spot for late night drinks.
