“Everything at Gin Gin’s is top notch; from the food to the service to the atmosphere. It is easily the best restaurant in GR! Downside is that it’s hard to get in. You have to get there at open if you don’t have a reservation and if you need a reservation I’d recommend booking at least a week in advance, especially on the weekends.“

“Amazing food. We popped in arround noon. my party had pancakes, chicken sandwich & shrimp/pork belly fried rice. I wish I didnt live over 2 hours away. We will be back next time we are in GR.“

“Frequently meet friends and have some of the best brunch in the city. Always busy but for a reason, and the service and hospitality which are already top notch, do not suffer. An example of this is when they bring you your food they remember who ordered which plate. This is one of those underrated hospitality things they do that other establishments don’t reach. “Superb! Fantastic lunch at ROAM! Was our fav food spot during our week long visit in Grand Rapids! Selena, our server, was attentive and friendly and the best server we had all week. 👏 Food was delicious-tacos on paratha bread, ensalada de elote Rangoon dip and mango sticky rice all yum! Vibe and decor awesome!“

“Stopped in for the salad bar as we were passing thru town. I looked up a good salad bar in the area and this place came up. 1st of all our server was so great! She was super sweet!!
What was on the salad bar was not refreshed. Had to ask for salad to be filled, they did make a fresh pizza for us which was nice. No radishes, broccoli and so many other things were near empty. I did ask the hostess to see if someone would please refill it all but it never happened. I assume if everything was filled and fresh it would be great though!! Made no sense to us why no one payed attention to keeping it full.“

“Everytime I go here i go get the same thing basically a regular here. But today I switched it up and go there fall apple pie shake and it hit the spot(really really good. The 2 guys that are always here there super kind. They out there souls into this food that they make. But the chicken is not dry and it good same with the fry’s and they make everything fresh. “Really enjoyed the food, especially the starters. For apps we got the goat cheese dip, soup of the day (chicken tortilla) and bacon Brussel sprout salad which were all so so good. Cocktail menu is super fun and refreshing, well balanced and definitely has a lot to care and creativity put into each drink. Jimmy was awesome, knows the ins and outs of the menu and events going on here (including local live music?! Heck yeah!) We’ll definitely be back again soon!“

“A fantastic hidden gem! The atmosphere was unique and authentic, the food was amazing (highly recommend the wings), and the service was top notch. The place is a little hidden but totally worth it - you won't be disappointed.“

“Excellent food options and drink menus with interesting dishes. We got the crab Rangoon nachos and a basic sushi roll that were DELICIOUS. I’ll probably order myself a plate of the nachos as my meal next visit because it was a great portion and amazing flavor with REAL crab. My ONLY complaint is we were there around 7pm or so on saturday sitting at the bar drinking and conversing next to multiple other couples and a couple ladies and two small children were sat at a table adjacent to us. I wish they didn’t allowed minors after a certain time or maybe on the weekends when adults are mostly going out. We were going for the dark, mature, ambiance (while seated at the bar) and it was thrown way off by the kids that were sat near us. We went for the “night life” and ended up feeling pretty awkward drinking and trying to have mature conversation next to lively small children.“

“We are here today for lunch. We are in town for States for Hockey and staying next door. By far the best restaurant experience I have ever had in my life. Fast, very friendly service. We got the salad/pizza bar and my son wanted a specific pizza and the made it right away fresh and hot and came to our table to tell us when it was ready so he could go get some. He’s picky and sometimes hard to please with food and no restaurant has ever been this kind an amazing to him. We have been places that won’t even bring refills in seven time. This restaurant was on top of everything! It was a great experience and we will definitely be back as we frequent Grand Rapids with 3 kids in hockey.“

“I had so many amazing & positive experiences with Portico over my wedding weekend. We hosted our cocktail hour for our wedding at the Portico and it was nothing short of incredible. The food was amazing, the staff was attentive, kind and flexible, and the space was perfect.
We also ordered breakfast take out for the bridal party on the day of the wedding, and it all turned out perfect. The food was hot, delicious and the perfect thing to have on the day I got married! I loved the breakfast sandwich so much that I ordered it to my room when I woke up the day after my wedding. The restaurant is in an awesome location and helped us have an amazing wedding weekend! Grand Rapids is growing... amphitheaters, soccer stadiums, yeesh. Any thriving city deserves a good comedy club, and a lot actually don't have one. This place is bringing in amazing comedians, and the atmosphere is electric! Good food, great staff, amazing times.“

“We came to try out the city sen restaurant. My husband had the mushroom goat cheeseburger. He said it was juicy and flavorful --no condiments necessary. I had the beef quesadillas. although this was on the shareable menu, it was quite large enough for me as a meal. The food was good, but it was the little amenities that made it very special --the unique silverware, carafe of ice water and pleasant ambient music in a modern setting made it a very special place for our date. It was fun to people watch through the open air windows. ( they fold close to keep in the AC if needed )Alex the manager shared with us some things we want to come back for, live music, etc. definitely planning to go back!

Wheelchair accessibility: The restrooms are quite large with low sinks and wide stalls. Although they are on the lower level, the elevator is also large and quite quick.“

It was genuinely awesome and the best part of the meal. Unfortunately, the service and environment dragged the experience down. Our server rushed us the entire time, constantly hurrying us along and barely making eye contact. The attitude came across as rude rather than just busy, which made the table feel unwelcome. On top of that, there were giant fruit flies all over the place, landing on glasses, buzzing around the food, the works. Not something you want to see (or swat) while trying to enjoy a meal.“
