“Frequently meet friends and have some of the best brunch in the city. Always busy but for a reason, and the service and hospitality which are already top notch, do not suffer. An example of this is when they bring you your food they remember who ordered which plate. This is one of those underrated hospitality things they do that other establishments don’t reach. Especially our server, Russ, who was wonderful but exceptionally great when our toddler started acting really bad and we needed boxes and to leave quickly. He was very kind, understanding, and responded fast so that we could leave before she made too big of a disturbance. We look forward to coming back another time and having more of the delicious crab rangoon!“

“We are here today for lunch. We are in town for States for Hockey and staying next door. By far the best restaurant experience I have ever had in my life. Fast, very friendly service. We got the salad/pizza bar and my son wanted a specific pizza and the made it right away fresh and hot and came to our table to tell us when it was ready so he could go get some. He’s picky and sometimes hard to please with food and no restaurant has ever been this kind an amazing to him. We have been places that won’t even bring refills in seven time. This restaurant was on top of everything! It was a great experience and we will definitely be back as we frequent Grand Rapids with 3 kids in hockey.“

“We came to try out the city sen restaurant. My husband had the mushroom goat cheeseburger. He said it was juicy and flavorful --no condiments necessary. I had the beef quesadillas. although this was on the shareable menu, it was quite large enough for me as a meal. The food was good, but it was the little amenities that made it very special --the unique silverware, carafe of ice water and pleasant ambient music in a modern setting made it a very special place for our date. It was fun to people watch through the open air windows. ( they fold close to keep in the AC if needed )Alex the manager shared with us some things we want to come back for, live music, etc. definitely planning to go back!

Wheelchair accessibility: The restrooms are quite large with low sinks and wide stalls. Although they are on the lower level, the elevator is also large and quite quick.“

“My husband and I ate at Tupelo Honey for the second time on Saturday, July 18.

The atmosphere and the staff are warm and welcoming. Our server, Ryan, was incredibly attentive and personable.

We started out with the biscuits for a cause and the famous fried green tomatoes. We enjoyed both of these dishes. The blueberry compote that came with the biscuits is delicious and you can buy jars of it.

My husband then had the bourbon peppercorn glazed meatloaf and I had the honey-dusted fried chicken. Both of these entrees were tasty—the only recommendation we would give them is to find a better way to present the mashed potatoes. They were quite thin, almost soupy, and would have been more appealing if served in a bowl rather than sprawled out across the entire plate.

Overall, we enjoyed the meal and were grateful for the kind and attentive service that Ryan gave us.“

“I had so many amazing & positive experiences with Portico over my wedding weekend. We hosted our cocktail hour for our wedding at the Portico and it was nothing short of incredible. The food was amazing, the staff was attentive, kind and flexible, and the space was perfect.
We also ordered breakfast take out for the bridal party on the day of the wedding, and it all turned out perfect. The food was hot, delicious and the perfect thing to have on the day I got married! I loved the breakfast sandwich so much that I ordered it to my room when I woke up the day after my wedding. The restaurant is in an awesome location and helped us have an amazing wedding weekend!
