“Dinner before a show at the Wealthy Theatre on a Saturday night. Restaurant was busy, but no waiting for a table in their nice area outside…this was after 7pm.
Service was excellent and our food came out quickly.
Really enjoyed our meals. Menu offered an excellent variety. Lots of interesting ingredients and great flavors.

“We found Butcher’s Union on a search for great places to eat in Grand Rapids as we were driving through. Someone reviewed it as a “must place to eat”. The atmosphere is great - high end bar feel. We had a hard time deciding on what to eat. Everything on the menu looked amazing. We enjoyed the meatball appetizer with ricotta, whipped feta (omg so good)… burger, ribeye sandwich, bacon wrapped meatloaf and of course chopped salad. Everything was perfect. So full of flavor. High quality across the board. Friendly service. Felt welcomed. Looks like we made a great choice - place was busy the whole time we were there.“

“We’ve been to Grove in multiple occasions. Each experience has been extremely unique. We are adventurous eaters who always find something new to experience. Tonight it was huitlacoche empanadas. We’ve never had a dish that disappointed. You truly can’t go wrong with service, food, or cocktails. If Michigan had a Michelin starred restaurant, this might be it.“

“Peyton was a phenomenal waitress and took care of our table and made sure we had everything we needed. She was definitely kind and made ccommodations for the games we wanted to watch. Kendra was an amazing bar tender and made our drinks as quick as they were ordered. They got our food and drink to us quick and made sure everything was as ordered. Coming from Texas this place sure did deserve 5 stars.

Parking: Plenty of spots and easy in and out.

“Max’s South Seas Hideaway has excellent vegetarian spring rolls and a great vegan curried noodle vegan bowl. The atmosphere is great, so many things from around the world that gives it a Caribbean feel. The place is three stories, so the seating arrangement is phenomenal and has several places to sit that feels like a private dining experience. Drinks were very good and extremely unique. Very friendly staff. I will definitely return.

“My girlfriends and I met at Blue Water for dinner tonight. Our waiter named Will made our dinner so enjoyable and fun. Our dinner came out so fast and the food was delicious. We split a dessert that we all didn’t care for. The General Manager Sheena came over immediately and offered us to try something different. She brought us a new dessert. She was so sweet and personable.“

“The vibe was definitely college-hangout-after-finals-week where everyone was pretty stoney or simply vibing. I guess if you're a bit buzzed or stoned, you wouldn't mind the quality of the food. Otherwise, I enjoyed the scene.

“For being a restaurant in a Double Tree hotel it was really good. I ended up going there 3 times during my stay, not including getting breakfast there everyday. The food was good with a good mix of items. The beer selection is great.
Breakfast was really good too. The bacon is thicker cut and is definitely much better than what you normally get at a hotel breakfast buffet.“

Parking: There is one handicap and two regular parking spots in the tiny parking lot. You'll almost certainly want to park on the street or a nearby parking lot instead. I wouldn't recommend Sweet Street west of Plainfield for parking, though. It is a busier and narrow street and the laundry mat across the street complicates things. Maybe park at the school on the east side of Plainfield?“

“MudPenney is one of those places that consistently delivers with their main thing. In other words, I’ve had espressos, cortados, lattes, and pour overs, and they do a great job time and again with their coffee. The only time I remember not being thrilled was with a specialty drink that had really intense flavoring; some of those can be pretty sweet. But sometimes that’s what you’re going for I suppose! Their food is also quite good. Can feel on the pricier side sometimes.

Their space is really attractive, and their staff has been consistently friendly. If you’re going in just for a quick coffee, they have area inside the front entrance that is small but never too busy, as their main draw is the larger cafe side where you can order food for breakfast and lunch and is a great place to meet up with others.“

“Traveled to GRap for a girls weekend! My girlfriend and I ordered chicken & waffles. Although the taste was wonderful, the waffles arrived cold. The kitchen took care of the issue in a timely manner. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed as the restaurant was packed. I ordered tea, had to ask for the cup upon delivery. Ordered water, had to ask for another glass as he only returned with one. Simple oversights. He was very kind and didn't get upset. Overall a good experience.“

“There were 10 of us dining at Olive's tonight. Wonderful service from Alec; the place was hopping but he was cool, calm, and patient. The food and drinks were wonderful and I felt the bill was very reasonable. We love having this great neighborhood spot.“

“Quaint little place often missed with great food with decent value. If you like sitting outdoors, this place is for you.

- Plainfield Burger: Good. Ordered medium and it came that way. It was juicy and a medium to high quality beef. They did not have American Cheese (which I always ask for), but the white cheddar was okay. I would do pepper jack next time, though (I think the printed menu called it something else). The toppings were well balanced and the burger stayed together well. It is probably just a little overpriced even considering it is an 8 oz patty.

- Hand-cut Fries: A bit off. They were cooked right and not too crispy. If anything, a little under crispy and thus on the softer side. However, the taste indicated either a deeper strong sauce it was cooked in or the oil it was cooked in was old. Not sure which. It was not overly unpleasant. I ate them all.

- Service: Very chipper and happy. They were always good about making sure we were taken care of.

- Atmosphere: Surprisingly comfortable for having the front patio door open (a garage door?) on a hot day. It was still a little warm, but not uncomfortably. The decor was pleasant, the lighting cheerful, and everything was neat, clean, and organized.

Stopped in on a Saturday night 8-10 PM.

Parking: Parking is a little confusing, but easy once you know. Parking in the back is not accessible from the front of the store as I assumed. You have to go down Julia St NE from Plainfield and it will be right after the Sunoco gas station on the right. You can walk down the sidewalk on the north side of the restaurant to the front. You can also park at State Farm on Kenwood NE after 5pm according to the restaurant’s website.“

“We came to try out the city sen restaurant. My husband had the mushroom goat cheeseburger. He said it was juicy and flavorful --no condiments necessary. I had the beef quesadillas. although this was on the shareable menu, it was quite large enough for me as a meal. The food was good, but it was the little amenities that made it very special --the unique silverware, carafe of ice water and pleasant ambient music in a modern setting made it a very special place for our date. It was fun to people watch through the open air windows. ( they fold close to keep in the AC if needed )Alex the manager shared with us some things we want to come back for, live music, etc. definitely planning to go back!

Wheelchair accessibility: The restrooms are quite large with low sinks and wide stalls. Although they are on the lower level, the elevator is also large and quite quick.“

“We came in right around 40 mins before closing time, asked if the kitchen was still opened and the table either had steaks or the fettucini Alfredo. The portion size were very generous, the French fries were nicely fried, the steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and I got the Brussel sprouts which were pretty darn good, though I feel like they would have been perfect if they were roasted or something ( just a thought :)). The waitress was really nice to us, gave us the scoop on the local area, what was happening and nice places to visit, and the atmosphere was also nice. The building looks interesting as well.“
