“My family and I visited Grand Rapids for a weekend. I saw this restaurant recommended on Tiktok so thought we'd give it a try. On Friday, we got there around 8:20pm. On Google it says her restaurant closes at 10. We walked in and waited a few minutes before a young man was sent to tell us that she (the owner) was not taking anymore orders and would he closing at 8:30. Okay, maybe the time was wrong on Google. No biggie, we decided to go again the next day. We got there around 3:30pm. Upon walking in, I smiled at the owner and said hello. She looked at me with a rude face and did not greet us. A few minutes later she asked across the restaurant if we had reservations. I answered no. Did not see anything about reservations being required when looking online. She continued working and we continued to wait by the door. After a few minutes, she came to us and said if you want to eat here, it will be slow service, is that okay? And we told her we're okay and left. Now I understand she was busy, but both days we were not treated with warmth or felt like we were welcomed in the restaurant. The other customers she interacted with were treated kindly from what we saw. I personally feel like she does not care for black Americans, which sucks because we were trying to support her black business.“

“We’ve been to Grove in multiple occasions. Each experience has been extremely unique. We are adventurous eaters who always find something new to experience. Tonight it was huitlacoche empanadas. “The food here is consistently incredible. Can confirm that the mussels, burrata, beef bourguignon, pork loin, bolognese, and black seafood pasta are all full flavor, satisfying dishes. “My nephew and I shared a meal here today and our experiences ranged from very good to off the scale great. We tried a Hot Mess breakfast with eggs, potatoes, chorizo,etc; it was perfectly balanced (neither to spicy or bland), super fresh; loved it. We also got a grilled cheese, with pepper jelly. The bread was the best ever (toasted perfectly) and crunchy, and it wasn't to cheesy (some places put too much cheese which makes it messy) with just enough pepper jelly to create an original experience; and one of my favorite sandwiches of my life. The salad was the low point of the meal as it was merely perfect. We also got a chocolate croissant which was great and a pot de creme which was decadent and..can I say perfect again. This is my new favorite place“

“Had so much fun here. They had an buffet set up on the day I visited (apparently the buffet is available once a month). It had a variety of different Ethiopian dishes which were really good. They came around and served top quality coffee in these cute handleless mugs. The place was buzzing with happy Ethiopian music and the staff entertained on a small dance floor in authentic traditional attire. The dance floor was open to patrons as well. They had an area with a hookah setup. It was a lot of fun“

“My girlfriends and I met at Blue Water for dinner tonight. Our waiter named Will made our dinner so enjoyable and fun. Our dinner came out so fast and the food was delicious. We split a dessert that we all didn’t care for. The General Manager Sheena came over immediately and offered us to try something different. She brought us a new dessert. She was so sweet and personable.“

My family was planning a surpise Anniversary party for my parents 40th, and our original cake plans fell through via another bakery due to false advertisement. I contacted Connie's with only 4 days notice, and they happily accommodated our needs on such short notice with kindness and pleasant customer service. I am beyond grateful and would highly recommend. Will be using them again in the future!“
