This is by far the best restaurant in the Grand Rapids area: we ordered the 5 course Chef's menu and each had something different from appetizers through desserts so we could taste all. From the waiter, the live music, our beverages, and Jenna's attention paid to all, the best meal ever.“

“Just tried Tastefull Vegan Ice Cream today and it was FANTASTIC! I am allergic to gluten, dairy, some tree nuts and a few other things, and this is a game changer! I haven’t always been allergic to these things so I know what “normal” iced cream tastes like. This is the closest thing to normal ice cream I’ve ever had, maybe even better! My husband also had some and he does not have the allergic I do. He said it’s some of the best ice cream he’s had in a long time! We will definitely be back before the end of the season! Also, you have to try the pumpkin pie flurry and the banana pudding flurry!“

“My nephew and I shared a meal here today and our experiences ranged from very good to off the scale great. We tried a Hot Mess breakfast with eggs, potatoes, chorizo,etc; it was perfectly balanced (neither to spicy or bland), super fresh; loved it. We also got a grilled cheese, with pepper jelly. The bread was the best ever (toasted perfectly) and crunchy, and it wasn't to cheesy (some places put too much cheese which makes it messy) with just enough pepper jelly to create an original experience; and one of my favorite sandwiches of my life. The salad was the low point of the meal as it was merely perfect. We also got a chocolate croissant which was great and a pot de creme which was decadent and..can I say perfect again. This is my new favorite place“

“We loved it. Everything we tried was amazing. The eggs Benedict was on point - the hollandaise was thinner that I'm used to, so I was worried, but it was phenomenal. The sausage scrambler was amazing too. We added a side of their homemade gravy too and it enhanced it. We also tried the whitefish special (not pictured), which is also homemade, and LOVED it! We will def be coming back. The history of the place is cool too.“

“Stopped by on a Wednesday night for dinner. Ordered the Eastern Sushi and the Philadelphia roll, both were excellent. Fresh, flavorful, and done right. Definitely recommend both.

Service was solid, the atmosphere had a great upscale vibe, and the whole experience felt relaxed and smooth. Total came out to $30.76 before tip, which is more than fair for the quality and experience.

If you want to have fun and socialize...I Do NOT recommend you go to West Sife Socal because that is not the vibe of this place. More like ANTI social!!! “Bravo to the staff at Max's in Grand Rapids! We went last night with 6 people, and were celebrating 2 birthdays. I had not done my research and thought we were in for a 'canned' touristy experience. I was very wrong. We were seated very close to our reserved time (highly recommend making a reservation a few days in advance). You cannot be in the bar area if you aren't 21. We were seated on the second floor, and we requested a table set apart due to hearing concerns; the booth was perfect. First, the kitchen staff must be a well-oiled machine, so much food and so unique and delicious! Our waitress Katie was excellent: quick with a smile, accommodating of special requests, seemed unflappable, and did a great job timing how our food came out (we ordered some apps, some entrees, then dessert - all to share around our table). We had alcoholic drinks as well as zero-proof cocktails, all of which were outstanding! So glad we all shared the food, as it amplified the experience by letting us taste so many different dishes. What we ordered: pupu platter and chicken satay. Then spring rolls, crab rangoons. and the ginger salad (large portion - great for family style). From the featured specials, we had the mahi-mahi on couscous with tomatoes and spinach; steak pasta with demi-glace and gorgonzola; mahi-mahi tacos; and a Caribbean jerk handheld wrap. And for dessert, the PB cheesecake and key lime pie, both light and exceptionally made. Everyone in our group raved about the flavors in the food AND how well it was made; each aspect of our experience was exceptional. We averaged about $55 per person due to the alcoholic drinks and 25% tip.“

“We are here today for lunch. We are in town for States for Hockey and staying next door. By far the best restaurant experience I have ever had in my life. Fast, very friendly service. We got the salad/pizza bar and my son wanted a specific pizza and the made it right away fresh and hot and came to our table to tell us when it was ready so he could go get some. He’s picky and sometimes hard to please with food and no restaurant has ever been this kind an amazing to him. We have been places that won’t even bring refills in seven time. This restaurant was on top of everything! It was a great experience and we will definitely be back as we frequent Grand Rapids with 3 kids in hockey.“

“connie’s cakes tasted AMAZING! best vanilla cake i’ve ever had, we will be saving half for our one year anniversary! communication was good, however we were discussing we get a heart shaped vintage cake for our wedding day and they ended up making a circular cake day of. our coordinator picked it up for us and we were able to pay over the phone for easy pick up! i recommend with how good the cake tasted!“
