“Food - Our absolutely favorite spot in town! Hands down, top 3 burger contendor in GR. Amazing staff - kind and friendly, all good at mixing up a drink! You have to try a "Rob bomb". Atmosphere - This team really knocks it out of the park. Always an awesome vibe with lots of live entertainment! All in all, an amazing establishment. Definitely what Grand Rapids needs!“
“I love it here!!! I was surprised the first time that I came when they were new, that we had no wait. They greet you outside to check ID's and to let you in only if there is space. There was no table available for us, but there was room at the bar. We gladly accepted. The bartenders were phenomenal - very attentive and helpful, made good drinks, obviouslyyyyy! I tired the PVPD and absolutely loved it. Very beautiful drink and very delicious. The drink names are fun and playful, and very fitting for the place.I can't wait to come back for food. It looked good, and if it is as good as the drinks, I am sure I'll be impressed. The atmosphere is great - I love all the neon going on, it is very lively and kind of gives club vibes, but it is a pretty small, intimate place. Overall, I'd recommend!!Parking: There are plenty of paid parking lots in the area, but there is also a lot of street parking, some metered, but mostly free.“
“The establishment offers a selection of delightful and customized beverages. We thoroughly appreciated the craft cocktails, each thoughtfully curated. Despite the busy atmosphere, we were pleased that they accommodated our party of six, enhancing our overall experience.“
“Recently moved to GR and trying to hit up as many cocktail joints as possible. We went here on Friday night and really had a great time. The atmosphere and the drinks were top notch. Bartender made my sister a dealers choice and she loved it! Can’t wait to check this place out again“
“Simply outstanding cocktails at a very cool spot. Close to the arena. Can be tricky to find. It’s down the stairs to the north of Big O Pizza and Booze.Kid-friendliness: Not at all. None. You’d definitely get strange looks.Wheelchair accessibility: If you can manage stairs. I don’t see how you’d get there otherwise.“
“This is the second time we’ve visited here! The first was last October when we were fueling up for the half marathon in Grand Rapids. On Saturday we visited and tried some new things that we haven’t had before. We ate about half the menu the first visit (all of which were amazing), and the second visit did not disappoint. The menu is fantastic and there’s something for everyone. The coffee menu is also good! The atmosphere is comfortable and unique. We live a couple hours away and would definitely make the trip again just to visit this place.“
“In with another friends couple celebrating my birthday last night.Brandon was our server and he made it a very special dining experience. We have been all over the country and have hit some amazing destination restaurants and MDRD ranks top among the best.Quality of food, service, atmosphere and a great 360 view of beautiful downtown Grand Rapids makes for a World Class dining experience. A really amazing menu that offers several different choices vs your same old same old dining.MDRD is where you want to go for the elegant, romantic, special dining experience. Can’t wait to go back.“
“It's always amazing. I'm just bummed I didn't think to take pics! Next time!I had a Ceasar salad and tomato bisque soup. Both were amazing. My husband had the featured pasta with goat cheese. It was also fantastic!!Someone at the table had the brisket and said it was absolutely fabulous!!I also had an old-fashioned and espresso martini ???“
“Awesome dive bar in GR. Matty was our server and he was seriously one of the best waiters my husband and I have ever had. Little dark inside, don’t remember seeing windows, but plenty of seating at the bar and tables. They had great drinks and drink prices. Pull tabs too! We will definitely “
“I cannot get enough of wiseman! Not only are the drinks delish (the seltzers and seasonal drinks especially) but the service is outstanding. Payton never fails to make sure I have an amazing time and is so knowledgeable. Always a top recommendation to anyone who asks:)“
“Got drinks with a friend on a Saturday night at like 9pm. I lovedddd the vibe of this place. Low lighting with ambient music. Definitely mood setter.Wasn’t crowded at all. Bartenders were super chill, and friendly. They have a few NA options…I had something in a bottle and enjoyed it.“
“We had a small dinner reception in the Elevated Room at Divani on our wedding day in September, and were absolutely blown away! The food, the service, the atmosphere - everything was 5 star. Every single person we encountered was so kind and accommodating. Wendy was also an absolute DREAM to work with. I went back and forth with Wendy for about a year while planning our wedding. Celebrating here was the perfect ending to a perfect day, and we cannot thank you all enough!“
“Fun restaurant with a great atmosphere. Went for a family dinner before an event in gr. Highly recommend. For the owners I would recommend including the kids menu online. We almost didn't come as we were not sure our kids would have an option they would enjoy too. I was pleasantly surprised by the kids menu.Kid-friendliness: My kids had a wonderful time with zero proof umbrella drinks and wonderful kids menu. While this is a little pricier place it is great for a special night out.“
“I enjoyed a delicious oat milk latte and a snickerdoodle cookie. My son had a kids hot chocolate. Friendly staff, warm and inviting atmosphere and tasty drinks. Everything you’d want in your neighborhood coffee shop! Can’t wait to try the cocktails!“
“We really enjoyed our time here. Cory was an EXCELLENT server. He offered good suggestions and everyone loved their meals. Curry was good, scampi was rated excellent and our friend loved the lemon, Al pastor was a highlight for sure. Really delicious. The highlight of the night was the bread pudding. Save room as it was everyone's favorite. Street corn app was great too. Will be back!!“
“Best cocktail bar in Grand Rapids. They know what they do. I hate reviewing places like this, because they are already better than me. Staff is next level. On several visits the bartender has made off-menu drinks based entirely on my feedback. Atmosphere, music, everything, probably better than anything I would dream up. Doesn't hurt Dr. Bird is easily a top five spirit under $30.“
“Went for our anniversary last weekend. We didn't feel like dealing with the hustle and bustle of a Saturday night, so we booked for Sunday at 5pm. We absolutely did not need a reservation but it was really nice that we did because they were very ready for us. They had a lovely large booth set for us, including a personalized note congratulating us on our anniversary. I will start this by saying the server's name is escaping me, but he doubled as the bartender that evening. I want to say it was Jake? Either way, he was great! We got cocktails to start, whiskey julep and paper plane. My boyfriend didn't love the julep, he went out on a limb trying something new to him, but I really enjoyed the paper plane. Second, we ordered the bison meatballs and medjool dates as appetizers. The dates were fabulous, they reminded me of a super elevated PB&J. The meatballs weren't my favorite, as I found them a little dry, but my boyfriend loved them. I did notice that a TON of things on this menu feature nuts as garnish or contain a nut butter? This place would be pretty tough for someone with a peanut/tree nut allergy. Third, we actually both order the Delmonico steak - him the ribeye (medium) and myself the filet (med rare). Their special that night was Hamburger Helper and I was very, very close to getting it but the steak was calling me. All of our food came out very quickly - to be fair, I am almost positive that we were the only patrons at the time but that worked great for us! The steaks were both perfectly cooked to temperature. I had the Chalk Hill Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast, CA) per the recommendation of our server, it paired super well! The delmonico potatoes were something I had to ask our server about because I had never heard of them. They were basically a block of cheesy potatoes and they were delicious! I couldn't finish my meal and our server boxed mine up for me... which I promptly forgot at the table as we left (sad). No dessert for us this time as we were stuffed but the Baked Alaska sounded awesome. We will be back!“
“Another great GR restaurant. We've been in twice now. If you find seats at the bar while waiting for your table expect prompt friendly service. They are definitely on top of things. Table service has been a bit mixed. Sometimes it's great sometimes you wait 15 min for salt and pepper when it's not busy enough to warrant that. On our first visit we had a delightful server, Jordan. She was a great help to me communicating with the kitchen and exploring some dinner options that I could have with my allergies. We started with the Focaccia. For dinner I decided to go with the Rigatoni w/the sauce from the Ravioli as it was allergy friendly. The sauce was nice and not sweet thankfully. I've had this dish a few times and the only thing I can say is that the Pasta is a little too Al Dente even for this Italian girl. My husband went with the Rustica Pizza. He liked it but wasn't blown away. He also ordered the Bolognese on a different night. He thought it was more of a meat sauce than a traditional Bolognese which has less tomato to it. He did enjoy it though. Cocktails and Wine selection are good. Definitely going to keep this in our rotation“
“Met up with a friend here and it was super tasty. It was not very busy at all for a Friday night, so I appreciated that. Our server was very nice and accommodating. I love that you are able to turn any salad into a wrap, and their drink menu was good too! It was dimly lit inside and very loud, but I think that's what you'd expect when you hear the term "speakeasy". This is not a speakeasy in the sense that it has a funny looking door or anything, it is very easy to find.“
“Our group had a lot of fun! Service is good and the bowling is really fun. Pretty fast paced but it keeps you engaged. There isn't food to order but you can have food brought in. Full service bar with all your favorite alcohol and beer choices.“
“My wife and I were looking for something a little different as we drove down Plainfield. We always like to go to small mom and pop's and Cafe Mamo hit the spot. The exterior is misleading, looking small, but the inside although not big, did seem roomy with many tables. We shared the pasta dish, it was simple but full of flavor. The rolls were soft and delicious with creamy butter. For dessert we enjoyed the cake and wow, it was a surprise with all it's wonderful tastes. Our service was warm and greeting. We enjoyed our entire experince.“
“Grand Rapids Top Place for a perfect steak! They never fail to impress with their exceptional tastes. Listening to Frank Sinatra, enjoying a drink, eating my steak, dimmed lighting, is a definition of a perfect night... drinks took a little long, at first, but it's not a big deal when the food and ambience is top tier.“
“Went to HopCat on St. Patrick’s day weekend during Irish on Ionia. The place was crazy busy but our bartender, Kasey was efficient, patient and so kind. She never made us feel rushed even with how much she had going on. Great service! Thank you Kasey!! ?“
“I tried this restaurant because of location and menu and they did not disappoint. It was a very quick walk from the JW and has great curb appeal and atmosphere. We had oyster shooters and truffle fries to start. Both were excellent and came out quick. For dinner we had the short rib and lamb shank. Both were exceptional in presentation and taste. The lamb and short rib were both extremely tender and delicious. My gf is gluten free so it was a pleasant surprise to see gluten free carrot cake available. She said it was very delicious and moist. I had the chocolate mousse, and it was also delicious. If you are in Grand Rapids, FortyPearl is a must for dinner.“
“Overall, I really enjoyed my few stops at the Friesian, but the service has definitely been questionable. The atmosphere is good, and the food is amazing. I go back for the food, in spite of the service and poor parking.Vegetarian options: There are some vegan options on the menu, and they are all fantastic!Parking: There is a shared parking lot that is a couple minute walk from. The Friesian. It's more an inconvenience than a deal breaker.“
“What a pleasant spot! Great atmosphere for drinks and meeting with friends. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The brussels sprout appetizer was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend. We sat at the wooden bench-style booth in the corner. My only complaint is that the bench wasn't very comfortable. It feels like you're sitting at a picnic table. There isn't a good way to sit without getting uncomfortable after a few minutes. I think a few pillows would make that front corner table even cozier! There are all different types of seating, not all seats are this wooden bench type.Overall, I would recommend giving Long Road Distillers a try!!“
“My boyfriend and I stopped here on our anniversary in December and really enjoyed our experience. They are very creative with their drinks and add very cute garnishes and things of the like that fit a theme. The lighting is stunning and really sets a great vibe for an evening with your partner. They allowed me to sample their old fashioned options, which was so kind of them. I loved their old fashioned drinks so much, I bought my dad their holiday pack of 3 flavors for Christmas! He LOVES them too. Can't wait to be back!“
“Such a very cool and exciting space right in Breton village. Many vegan and dairy free options available for my lactose intolerant stomach to digest, which makes me VERY happy. The walls and decor and overall vibe are so eccentric and inviting.the siracha honey glaze on the pretzel sticks are absolutely delicious as was the southwest chicken bowl and the vegan donut sundae. Definetley worth coming in and checking out if you haven't tried it!“
“I went here as I live close by. I went in and sat at the bar, was waited on immediately. I let the bartender make me a drink she designed. A spin on an old fashioned, with rum and pineapple whiskey, very tasty! I got a lime fizz and OMG, so flipping good! I let bartender decide on my third and she did me right with a delicious old fashioned that was smokey and just plain delicious. Not only were the drinks perfect, she used a straw to taste what she made before serving a mark of a true professional. Being into the culinary arts you MUST taste what you nake prior to serving and drinks are no different. Great job! Highly recommend this place for top notch drinks....and good "bar snacks" too.“
“The recommendation of the mango guac was spot on – it was absolutely delicious! Paired with a classic marg and I almost felt like I was on a beach in Mexico. Not only did Alec have great recommendations and conversation but his vibrant and outgoing personality truly added to the dining atmosphere. Thank you, Alec, for your excellent service and for making my visit memorable. I'll definitely be back!“
“Took a couple grandkids here to spend a rainy afternoon together….Chris and his staff were wonderful! Helped us get set up, and checked in just often enough to make sure we had what we needed. Great atmosphere….clean, comfortable and friendly.“
