Starbucks in Grand Rapids

“I ran in this morning because my 15 year old did a online order. He never changed the location so they didn’t have it. They gave me advice on how to handle it ( I had left my phone in the car) and I said thank you this isn’t your fault. When I got in the car I was so stressed with so many things they have no idea about in my personal life however we had to pass the drive thru to leave so I let them know I got to my phone and it’s on alpine it’s ok, I’ll call them and they asked to remake it and for a receipt. I ensured them this isn’t their fault again but they insisted. I of course did a cash tip but also this is what customer service is, this is what so many places are missing as a district manager of a few businesses it made my heart so happy to see such amazing humans. Thank you to the 7:50am shift this morning!!!“

“Best Starbucks around. Amanda Johnson and her team give excellent customer service. If you are a regular (most of us are) they already know your drink of choice. If they get a line they are already asking the next person in line what they can get started. We love them!!!!!“

“I enjoy the atmosphere at most Starbucks locations but this one is my favorite. From the way it’s setup to the lighting to the people who pop In and out of it to the amazing staff at this location. This Starbucks is often extremely busy, but it’s a lively, happy busy vs a lot of other businesses where busy equals crabby patrons and over worked understaffed tired employees. At its busiest, the staff is plentiful with each member working around the other like a choreographed dance. I never see overwhelm or annoyance on their faces and it’s clear there’s a protocol for everything, and everybody follows it. The customers at this location are different too. A ton of “regulars”, lots of “Door Dashers” and a table or two of moms and kids on a play date. No one is complaining, strangers even talk with each other while waiting for their orders. The coffee and good is good, bathrooms are clean and although the parking lot is somewhat long and narrow and full a spot always opens up when I pull into the lot. This location is right off the highway and also close to Michigan St. so it’s very easy to get to for people commuting to work or out running errands. They do have a drive thru, handicapped parking and handy capped entrance along with wheelchair accessible bathrooms. I think it’s a good spot to go have coffee by myself because I don’t feel uncomfortable at all when I go If you’ve never been to this Starbucks I’d say go give it a try. It’s a different kind of coffee house experience and I enjoy it! I’ll grab some photos next time I’m there.“

“Just wanted to give a shout out to this Starbucks, I mistakenly placed an order to a different one, and they kindly made my order, at no extra cost. I offered to call the other store and they told me not to worry about it. My latte and breakfast was delicious! Great customer service!“

​Product Temperature Verification: Beverage preparation adheres strictly to standard thermal profiles. The drip and espresso-based coffees are served at optimal serving temperatures, avoiding the premature cooling that often plagues high-volume kiosks.
​Culinary Preparation: Food items—specifically the artisanal breakfast sandwiches and pastries—undergo precise heating. They are served properly warmed throughout, avoiding the common operational error of cold geometric centers.

However, due to the critical scarcity of power infrastructure, it is poorly suited for extended deep-work sessions requiring continuous device charging. Bring a full battery pack if you plan to stay long.“

“I was late picking up my order which included a Nitro cold brew, only to find out they don't prepare the Nitro until you arrive. Clutch. The Barista offered to remake my Americano, which I declined because that sucker is already strong enough. Incredibly convenient pickup location for your natural caffeine on the go!“

I’ve been here many times; I always end up learning something new with each visit. The service has generally been good; most of the staff don’t really interact much with customers. Still, there’s usually at least one person who greets you, which is nice.

Since this location is not corporate owned, you can’t use Starbucks promotional codes or participate in certain campaigns such as the free red cup event. Funny enough, I was able to use app codes here in the past both online and in person; it seems management has since changed the policy. Who knows. Either way, you can still use codes when ordering directly through the app.

This store is also cashless; they only accept card payments. They don’t take PayPal directly; if you load money onto a Starbucks card through the app, they’ll accept it. It’s just how their system works.

One time, I accidentally placed an order at the wrong location; they still went ahead and made my drink anyway, which I really appreciated. I also learned that any drinks not picked up within 15 minutes are thrown away.

The store itself is usually clean; the bathrooms are also clean. There’s a small bookshelf where you can take or leave a book for others, which is a thoughtful touch.

Parking can be a bit tricky. There are a few free spots directly in front of the store for 15 minutes; one spot is reserved for first responders. The rest of the parking is not free; the university parking staff do check often and issue tickets. There’s an app available for paid parking.

Overall, this location has its quirks; I hope this review covers everything you might want to know before visiting.“

Did not enjoy the food but i only tried one item so... Sausage egg cheese burrito. Super dry.

Employees are kind. Noah took my order with great patience as I navigated the menu.

I purchased the caremel ribbon crunch frap. I do enjoy this bc there's little crunchy bits in every sip.

“despite being updated to say 100 Michigan (probably because the Corewell Location is tired of losing customers to their bad-mouthed staff), this is 35 Michigan inside the food court, across from 100 Michigan. The location across the street also told us this location was closing.

Would recommend supporting the GOOD location & not the money grab one! 👀 (unless you like your drink randomized every time you shop)“

“While the volume of the music overhead was a little overwhelming the atmosphere was still quite inviting. The young ladies that took care of my order were equally welcoming. During this visit I ordered a Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. This drink was prepared both skillfully and expediently.“

“Quick stopped in had a gift card given to us treated to a coffee. Overall standard Starbucks, clean and a very kind and friendly staff. Busy location as right by lots of other shopping Costco, Aldi's and the highway on ramp. Great for strollers and wheel chairs. They have a drive thru that also stays busy. “I really enjoyed my frappes today. One thing about this location is that they will make sure to take enough time to blend the frappes thoroughly so the drink and flavor is smooth and evenly distributed and you get your money's worth instead of the bottom quarter of the beverage just being flavorless unblended ice chunks. I had the horchata and pumpkin spice with caramel. They made it perfectly, I would have taken photos but I finished them while driving, they were so good.“

“I can’t say enough good things about the team at the Starbucks on Northland Drive in Plainfield, especially Madison and Mo.

My vehicle broke down in the drive thru, and instead of simply waiting for someone else to help, they both went completely above and beyond. They came outside, helped me get my vehicle jump started, and genuinely rescued me from what could have been a very stressful situation. That level of kindness and willingness to help is something you don’t see every day, and I’ll never forget it.

On top of that, they still made my drink perfectly. Even with everything going on, the quality of the service and my order never skipped a beat.

Madison is consistently one of the friendliest people I’ve ever encountered in customer service. Every time I come through, she greets me with a smile, is genuinely welcoming, and always makes me feel like a valued customer. Her positive attitude and exceptional customer service are a huge reason I keep coming back. “I travel regularly for work, and I’m a regular Starbucks drinker. That being said, I’ve visited a lot of different locations from coast to coast, this one is by far the best, here is why… I cycled between a few different orders, but they are always consistent and always good. Their facility is very clean (I propose it often as a meeting place with colleagues/friends). Most important, their staff is incredible. They’ve taken the time to remember me by name (I know it’s on the cup), and truly take the time to look me in the eye and ask me how I’m doing or what I did this weekend (not just one of the staff, all of them). I wish there was a way I could highlight this group further, because they’re truly an incredible staff.“
