Starbucks in Grand Rapids

“I ran in this morning because my 15 year old did a online order. He never changed the location so they didn’t have it. They gave me advice on how to handle it ( I had left my phone in the car) and I said thank you this isn’t your fault. When I got in the car I was so stressed with so many things they have no idea about in my personal life however we had to pass the drive thru to leave so I let them know I got to my phone and it’s on alpine it’s ok, I’ll call them and they asked to remake it and for a receipt. I ensured them this isn’t their fault again but they insisted. I of course did a cash tip but also this is what customer service is, this is what so many places are missing as a district manager of a few businesses it made my heart so happy to see such amazing humans. Thank you to the 7:50am shift this morning!!!“

“I was late picking up my order which included a Nitro cold brew, only to find out they don't prepare the Nitro until you arrive. Clutch. The Barista offered to remake my Americano, which I declined because that sucker is already strong enough. Incredibly convenient pickup location for your natural caffeine on the go!“

“I come to this Starbucks every other week for a coffee before work, and it’s honestly what I look forward to once I’m out the door.

The employees are welcoming, always in a great mood, and happy to recommend their favorite drinks. I can’t recommend this Starbucks and its staff/manager enough.“

“I go to this Starbucks literally every morning and Dixie knows my order by now and always gets it perfectly. She’s usually the only worker there and is always busting her butt and moving quickly with the line. Keep up the work superstar! And thanks for always making my drink perfectly ❤️“

“despite being updated to say 100 Michigan (probably because the Corewell Location is tired of losing customers to their bad-mouthed staff), this is 35 Michigan inside the food court, across from 100 Michigan. The location across the street also told us this location was closing.

Would recommend supporting the GOOD location & not the money grab one! 👀 (unless you like your drink randomized every time you shop)“

I’ve been here many times; I always end up learning something new with each visit. The service has generally been good; most of the staff don’t really interact much with customers. Still, there’s usually at least one person who greets you, which is nice.

Since this location is not corporate owned, you can’t use Starbucks promotional codes or participate in certain campaigns such as the free red cup event. Funny enough, I was able to use app codes here in the past both online and in person; it seems management has since changed the policy. Who knows. Either way, you can still use codes when ordering directly through the app.

This store is also cashless; they only accept card payments. They don’t take PayPal directly; if you load money onto a Starbucks card through the app, they’ll accept it. It’s just how their system works.

One time, I accidentally placed an order at the wrong location; they still went ahead and made my drink anyway, which I really appreciated. I also learned that any drinks not picked up within 15 minutes are thrown away.

The store itself is usually clean; the bathrooms are also clean. There’s a small bookshelf where you can take or leave a book for others, which is a thoughtful touch.

Parking can be a bit tricky. There are a few free spots directly in front of the store for 15 minutes; one spot is reserved for first responders. The rest of the parking is not free; the university parking staff do check often and issue tickets. There’s an app available for paid parking.

Overall, this location has its quirks; I hope this review covers everything you might want to know before visiting.“

“Best Starbucks around. Amanda Johnson and her team give excellent customer service. If you are a regular (most of us are) they already know your drink of choice. If they get a line they are already asking the next person in line what they can get started. We love them!!!!!“

Did not enjoy the food but i only tried one item so... Sausage egg cheese burrito. Super dry.

Employees are kind. Noah took my order with great patience as I navigated the menu.

I purchased the caremel ribbon crunch frap. I do enjoy this bc there's little crunchy bits in every sip.

“This was our first time here. We came with some of our family to shop and enjoy coffee. What we ordered was very good and the staff was very helpful. I sat, enjoyed by coffee and read a book while others in my family shopped at Meijer. I love having a Starbucks in Meijers. We'll be back soon.“

“I travel regularly for work, and I’m a regular Starbucks drinker. That being said, I’ve visited a lot of different locations from coast to coast, this one is by far the best, here is why… I cycled between a few different orders, but they are always consistent and always good. Their facility is very clean (I propose it often as a meeting place with colleagues/friends). Most important, their staff is incredible. They’ve taken the time to remember me by name (I know it’s on the cup), and truly take the time to look me in the eye and ask me how I’m doing or what I did this weekend (not just one of the staff, all of them). I wish there was a way I could highlight this group further, because they’re truly an incredible staff.“

Busy location as right by lots of other shopping Costco, Aldi's and the highway on ramp. Great for strollers and wheel chairs. They have a drive thru that also stays busy. Parking in the lot with other stores.“

“I live almost 2 hours from this location, I was in town with my mom when we broke down in the middle of the parking lot/intersection of Starbucks. We had to wait over around 4 hours for a tow truck, and they employees were very kind and understanding. They allowed us to stay warm in the building and gave us food on the house. Overall great customer service and a welcoming atmosphere!“

They are accurate with drink orders and they are friendly enough.

However, it is quite slow, in comparison to other Starbucks locations.

Note that they do not have tables/chairs in the lobby at all. This location is fine for the drive through, though.“
