Ramen Restaurants near Grand Rapids, MI

“After traveling to Japan and living in California for a number of years, I’ve had some of the best ramen and I would say Noodlepig is nailing it and quickly became one of the best IMO. Amazing experience and authentic ramen. I would expect to see this place to be in a big city. They have a noodle room where you can see the magic all happen. Also love that they feed hungry kids with every bowl sold. Recently tried the mazemen (soupless ramen) and karaage chicken, also amazing!“

We ordered gyoza, rangoon, karaage chicken, and beef ramen. We were recommended this restaurant so we were excited to give it a go. Sadly, it was a bit of a miss for us. The gyoza, Rangoon, and ramen didn’t really taste to either of us like anything special warranting the price. There’s an Asian takeaway close to home that we prefer for these items and it’s a bit cheaper. Lunch prices weren’t great. I liked the sauce for the karaage chicken, but the chicken pieces weren’t very good. My hubs actually had to go inside and get salt. I hate leaving negative reviews, I’m not sure if they were having a bad day? We were really hoping to have a special lunch, but ended up paying double what we would’ve elsewhere for food that was less tasty. I was really, really surprised. And disappointed. Even if we’d paid less, I prob still wouldn’t return. The flavors just weren’t flaving. Like, it was good, but not remarkable. The Rangoon were probably the best bites, but I can get the same or better quality elsewhere for half the price.

I've never had a bad experience in the 3 years I've gone here. staff is always super lovley and kind and very helpful, whether that be bringing your food to you when they're not busy, to helping take care of your tray and dishes when you're done. 10/10, one of my favorites and you get a bang for your buck“
