“If you are looking for an absolute staple of the Grand Rapids food and drink scene, HopCat is it—but the crew working tonight took a great local spot and turned it into an unforgettable experience.
From the second we walked in, the energy was fantastic. Let’s start with the food, because it completely lived up to the hype. Those legendary Cosmik Fries are worth every bit of praise they get; that signature cracked pepper seasoning paired with the warm cheese sauce is pure perfection. Beyond the fries, the entire spread was flawless—comfort food executed at the highest level, paired with a massive, expertly curated tap list that makes any beer lover feel right at home.
What truly elevated the night, though, was the world-class hospitality. Our server, **Lis**, was a total rockstar. She was incredibly attentive, split-second fast with refills, and brought a bright, infectious energy to the table that made us feel like regular VIPs. You can tell when someone genuinely cares about their guests, and Lis crushed it.
To top it all off, the manager, **Kasey**, took the time to stop by our table to check in on us. It’s rare to see a manager so hands-on and genuinely invested in the guest experience, but Kasey’s leadership and warmth clearly set the tone for the entire room.

“This is a great place to eat and drink! Service is fantastic! The Chef brought us a couple samples of ribs and asked our thoughts. We did order the ribs they were yummy!“

“I love Hopcat. I have been before and I'll come again. The beers and fries were great, the burgers seemed a bit small this time around. The stand out this time was our server, Sophie. While it took a bit of time to be greeted, once we were, she was spot on. I hope to have her as a server again.“

“The dog friendly patio was the perfect temperature. Not too crowded. We brought our dog Rosa. She was behaved well until a guy approached to pet her and smelled of alcohol. But she was an angel with the ladies at the table next to us. We had the nachos with pulled pork to share and got a bowl of tots each, me the crab rangoon and my fiance the chorizo. It was all amazing. Our waitress was friendly and very polite. We came for lunch on a Thursday. Not very crowded at all. Definitely coming back :)“

She brought joy and the best corned beef skillet and Rueben. A perfect and beautiful start to our stay!“

“The greatest dive bar I’ve visited in years. Certainly the best one in Grand Rapids. We discovered Our Tavern on accident and never wanted to leave. Great prices. Fun clientele. The owner Kim slinging drinks was The Very Best.

Add to that pinball, pool, shuffleboard, a jukebox, and the most spacious, clean bar bathroom you’ve ever seen, and I can’t wait to go back for many, many return visits.

“Stella's was the first place in GR I ate when I moved and it's always going to be a special place! I love the poor man's wings and the burgers are always great. Nice staff and they try to seat you as quickly as they can. The vibe is very different based on peak or off timing as it can get very busy, loud, and hectic.“

“Walking down the promenade at the Bar, feeling hungry, she stopped by a small pizza restaurant. The place is cozy: two floors, a street terrace and even a small hotel attached to it. I chose an outdoor table - it's nice on the terrace: the sun doesn't bake, there's a slight breeze and a great view of the waterfront. Menu - European cuisine, prices average. The waiter was found friendly, the service was warm and unobtrusive. I ordered pepperoni pizza and beer. Cooked for about 20 minutes. The pizza is classic, Italian style: thin dough, good roast, rich taste. Just what you need after a walk by the sea. The place left a nice impression. No pathos, but with atmosphere - I had a great time here.“

Hannah was the server and was very friendly but doesn't seem to know the differences between the beers they offer, other than that she is friendly, helpful to her customers and to her coworkers.
