“It is always a joy to visit Boardwalk subs on plainfield ave in Grand Rapids, MI the staff on duty especially: Tammy, Matt, Marissa, and Natashia all know us by name and what kind of sub we like. They are so friendly and happy to see us each time we visit. They work so well as a team each helping each other out. The subs are extraordinary good, only one of the reasons we keep going back. I will continue going to boardwalk subs always.“

“its hard finding a nice little shop like this, most places that try to serve quick Vietnamese food don’t do very well. Lots of the quick shops are highly white washed and over Americanized as well as over priced portions. Now I’ve been eating here since I was a kid and it truly is the best place for authentic Vietnamese foods, many on-the-go options to choose from! Especially when it’s good, nicely portioned and affordable, it’s hard to not love it here :)

“I’ll give them 5 stars because they have the best tuna fish and I don’t like to hurt anyone’s business but I ordered a double meat Big Kahuna Chicken Cheesesteak and wanted provolone instead of American white cheese. I could barely tell there was any cheese on it and was the worst cheesesteak I’ve ever had there, very dry. Maybe I ordered it wrong and if so I apologize.“

“I like JJ but not enough to eat it frequently. But after working nearby I get it almost everyday. What got me is how they prepare it. You get every single component in every bite. What kind of ruined it for me is most locations just stuff it with meat and you have to work your way through to the mayo, jimmy peppers etc.. but here everything is balanced. I know this is just a chain fast food shop, but wow does it make a difference and I look forward to my lunches now. Just to further support this review, last Saturday I ate the Cubano at the location near 44th and Eastern. Couldn’t eat it after couple bites, just too much meat and had to take so many bites to reach the other toppings I requested. Ordered the Cubano here today.. finished it..“

“I have to be honest, our crew is a big one. I didn’t have high expectations that they were gonna be able to serve all 20 of us in a reasonable time. But we put a lot of the orders in online ahead and Reesha had many of it done when we arrived, and for those that still need to order, she managed the entire store all by herself. She did it with a smile and believe it or not all the orders were right. Great job.“

“Service here is awesome. There's this guy with a mustache that seems to be addicted to good customer service interactions. Throughout my hour stay here today he's offered to change people's orders, gave helpful constructive tips to his coworkers, and offered to move furniture for someone in a wheelchair. It helps that they have fantastic dark roast coffee. The sandwiches could be better, but I'm not complaining too much with the reasonable price that they have. The atmosphere suffers a bit from how busy the store is constantly.“

“Absolutely amazing store!!!! I order here around a dozen times every month for my office when we get lunches for clients. We often submit large orders with substitutions and sometimes have multiple orders in one day. I can’t imagine the volume of orders they get besides us being downtown and the food still manages to get here super quickly. Every one of their employees I’ve interacted with have been very friendly and helpful as well. Not to mention the food comes out great every time. “I stopped by Subway today for lunch, and I was genuinely impressed! The restaurant was spotless, and the staff greeted me with smiles the moment I walked in. My sandwich artist took the time to make sure everything was exactly how I wanted it — fresh veggies, perfectly toasted bread, and the right amount of sauce.

You could tell all the ingredients were fresh; the tomatoes were crisp, the lettuce was bright, and the bread smelled amazing. I tried the Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki on Italian Herb & Cheese, and it was absolutely delicious — warm, flavorful, and satisfying.

The service was quick even during the lunch rush, and the employees seemed to take real pride in their work. The dining area was clean and comfortable, with a welcoming atmosphere that made me want to stay a little longer.

“This was not the worst sub shop I've ever experienced. But still, I Ordered extra turkey on sub, instead got less (1 thin small piece that didn't even cover the whole sub sandwich), but paid for the extra turkey!
The service was ok, but I did indeed saw a worker (young teen) throwing food at another while preparing a sandwich. That really didn't bother me as much as getting (1) that's right ONE small turkey slice on my sub! I just wish i had taken a picture of the sub and the inside as proof.
Per the owner's response, I was harsh and not completely fair in my review. The food really did taste good other than below average meat (1 small slice in the whole sub and no extra for extra meat). I went next door to Family Fare Grocery and had to spend an extra $4.99 for extra meat which I shouldn't had to do. But I did go back the next day for an explanation, which none was given. No coupon or anything was offered.
My original rating was only 1 star, but because the owner didn't chastise me for telling what I have seen and my experience there, I'm changing my review to 4 stars instead of 1.
You see this was the very 1st time I had ever been in JJ's, and I guess I expected a pleasant experience. You know what they say, FIRST IMPRESSIONS are lasting,“
