The best home cooking that money can buy! You will leave here FED, both body and soul because you can feel the love that imbues the food.
The appetizer sample is a MUST for anyone on their first visit. The Ragu, the Succulent Broccoli, and the Jerk Chicken are all phenomenal. I was so happy that my vegetarian family members were easily accommodated. So delicious and a true gem of our city!

Everything was great. The food tasted wonderful and I never had Caribbean food before. But everything about this place is a 10/10. The owner came to talk to us and I love her!

You have GOT to try the accra! It's served with a strawberry sauce that is perfect blend of sweet, sour, and slightly spicy.
The owner was delightful and shared that she made the sauce only out of a need to use up strawberries. The result is that you will not find anything like this anywhere else.

Owner is crazy rude! My boyfriend decided to take me for date night. He grabs the door so I can step in and instantly Olga starts yelling at us saying we need to leave because she’s backed up. How about you hire people and stop trying to take so much work on??? We simply never wanted to support a black owned business. Also it’s sad because we are Haitian too. It truly be your own people! I’ll never return and I won’t recommend the restaurant to my friends or family.
Delicious food. Quaint ambience

This place is fantastic and the food is incredible and not too pricey for the quality. I mean really incredible food. I LOVE the curry goat. However, you do need to have adequate expectations when dining here. First off, if it's busy, it's HOT. You will probably perspire a little, especially in the hot summer. I would assume winter would be much better but I haven't been in that season yet, just during the summer. Second, the building has been split into two businesses where it used to be one dining location from what I understand, so it is not particularly large for a drop-in with a large group. However, the first time I visited the dining room was reserved for a large event so they absolutely can accommodate large groups with advance notice (please don't call the day of, give them at least a couple of days notice if not a couple of weeks 🙏) I don't think they were even accepting dine-ins at that time so they really do prioritize the event when reserved. I was still able to get takeout but it took a while for the staff to notice me. Honestly it wasn't the individual's fault, the kitchen area where most of the staff spend most of their time does not have a great view of the dining room, and you are expected to walk up to the door/counter thing and flag them down. That wasn't super clear when I first came here so it took me a couple of minutes of waiting until I realized I had to make the first move. My only suggestion to the owner is maybe put a sign by the door encouraging customers to approach the kitchen counter if they don't see staff for a while. Most people would probably be annoyed by that but honestly some kitchens have that vibe and they can still deliver a great experience so I don't care at all. But if you're reading this, don't go there and make a fuss if they don't greet you and hold your hand through the experience. Don't be afraid to get a hold of someone. Other than that, this place will make a lot of people very happy. The staff are really friendly and talented and the recipes are excellent and the wait times usually aren't too bad (although I did get a 45 min take-out time estimate today when I visited because I was there at 7pm on a Friday, so obviously any restaurant is going to have a long wait time for takeouts at that time). I can't stress enough how good the food is, and that's what really matters. The building is also really cool, it's hard to miss when passing by, it's very unique and the atmosphere is very pleasant and kind of fancy but also very homey at the same time. It's a very unique vibe I've never encountered anywhere else. But dang man, the food is what really makes this a 5 star spot. Eat here, it's worth it.

We had a wonderful meal and can't wait to go back! I had tofu coconut curry and my husband had chicken ragu. Both were fantastic but the ragu is so different and flavorful I'd highly recommend. The owner/cook/waitress suggested next time I chose a mix of tofu and veggies so I will for sure do that!
I was really worried about the heat level and picked 3. Usually I get medium plus when places have that scale. I didn't find 3 to be that spicy. Next time I'll try a 4 or 5.

Stopped by for dinner last night. I’ve always wanted to try this restaurant out but wasn’t sure if we would like their food. Let me tell you that this is one if the best meals we have had in a while. It’s not often that you find a place that has homemade delicious food. It was a full house yesterday from the moment we sat down until we left not an empty table. There is a bit of a wait on the food but once you get it you will not be disappointed. I recommend you go when you are hungry and not in a rush. The portions are also plenty for two people. We ordered the Jerk chicken and shrimp gumbo substituted the rice on the gumbo shrimp for fried rice. We shared both of these meals and still had lots of left overs. Everything was absolutely delicious. The owner is so sweet. We will definitely make this one of our to go spots when we are craving a delicious Caribbean meal. Recommend this hidden gem. You will not be disappointed. I almost forgot to mention that we had their coconut cheesecake it was delicious 🥰
