Fantastic place for dinner, no wait when we showed up late on a Saturday night. The special was fantastic - all around the food was very very good. Great prices.

This place was once great. Went the first weekend in October in the afternoon (4/5). Mostly empty. We sat inside. Ordered drinks and tacos. The tacos arrived almost instantly. Weirdly fast. 15 full minutes before the drinks. Al Pastor gave us food poisoning (we even told the staff it had a weird taste). No attentive service. Staff standing around the bar in a group of 4-6 at all times chatting. Felt like they wanted us anywhere else, and the food ensured that would be the case. Wish it weren't the case.

Hi all, im visiting from Cali and was craving Mexican so I came to Donkey Taqueria for a try. Here are my takeaways:
- FOOD: it is not great. The quesabirria needs work. Tacos are O.K. The main thing I could give credit are the salsas and the salad. If you want Americanized Latin food, go for it.
- ATMOSPHERE: First off, the decor and music of this restaurant is a mix of several Latin cultures which they claim all is “Mexican”. This is insensitive and very clear that the owner doesn’t understand the differences of Latin American cultures.
- SERVICE: everyone I interacted with were great. I don’t fault them for working in a non-authentic americanized “latin” restaurant.
Overall, really upset on the cultural appropriation in this restaurant. It’s sad that majority of people eating here are white and don’t understand that this is a misrepresentation of Mexican food.

It was OK, service was good, nice set up outside, food was just ok nothing special for the cost and small portions of items in the tacos.

Great Mexican food.
Slightly out of the way, but worth the trip if you are looking for Mexican that doesn't have to be 'the real deal '
Everybody talks about authentic Mexican food, but how about just good food?
Donkey Taqueria is a little more modern style, but the proof is in the tacos.
If the weather is good, sit outside.
Because it's a trendy joint, prices are higher than a normal 'family' Mexican restaurant - look at my menu photos
Al Pastor tacos are your failsafe choice.
BTW - Churros were actually good

Great neighborhood Tequila and Taco place. Food was good, however the tortillas were undercooked. Limited beverages. No coffee or tea.

We had their special margaritas and some classic salt, rock - all were delicious. The guacamole is fresh, and their queso could stand up to Austin. Great find.

The eggs in the breakfast burrito were pretty disgusting. They were grey and tasted like sulfur. Chips and salsa were good.
Always a great time! The food and margaritas always hit the spot!
