I had a couple of drinks at Dukes and enjoyed the time I spent there. It was fairly early at first, so my friend and I had no issues sitting down or talking. As the night went on the place became fairly busy and a bit louder. The drinks were priced well and the beer was cold. The fried pickles we ordered were okay, but maybe not fully cooked. We didn’t have any real issues, and it was an enjoyable end to the night. I’d definitely consider coming to Dukes again.

Our group recently visited Duke’s Bar on Easter, and I have to say it was an incredible experience. The highlight of our visit was definitely the bartender, James. He was such a fantastic presence behind the bar, making everyone feel welcomed and creating an atmosphere that was both relaxed and lively. He had some seriously cool double nose piercings and coffin gauges in his ears, which added to his unique vibe. His personality impressive and inviting. James was engaging, friendly, and genuinely made the whole experience memorable. If you're looking for great drinks and an even better time, I highly recommend Duke’s, especially if James is behind the bar!

I spoke up for a girl being smack on the ass and said that's not ok was pulled a side due to the fact a gay guy did that and I said that's not ok and I was told gay people can hit women anywhere they want. If I was a female I would not go to this bar! It's a terrible bar!

Staff is friendly, but some of the crowd that place brings isn’t as much. It’s a good place to “people watch “ but make sure your out of there before 2am, or stuff gets rough.

I used to be a fan of Dukes, but after a recent experience, I won't be returning. A group of us went to celebrate a graduation, and everything was going well. My boyfriend and I approached the bar for a drink, and there were no issues with his ID. However, when we returned for a glass of water, the bartender demanded his ID again. Despite his valid vertical Michigan ID (given to those who visit before their birthday), we were told he had to leave. We tried explaining that he's 23, and we were happy to verify his ID. He has been served multiple times at this bar, which is confusing why it was an issue now. When talking to the bartender, she stated that this was a “law” that he cannot be in the building past 9pm with a vertical ID, which is untrue. We would be more understanding if this was a policy at Dukes, however that was not the reason that was told to us. Instead of investigating the situation or having a way to verify his ID, they decided to kick him out, even though he has a valid state ID that is not expired. It's disappointing that such an inconsistent ID policy ruined what was supposed to be a celebratory evening. This experience has left a sour taste, and me and my group of friends will never be returning to Dukes anytime soon.
