East Garden Buffet

I was a little hesitant to try this place. But it was clean, the staff were friendly and the food was good! I’m glad we gave it a try.

Very friendly, professional, and a comfortable atmosphere. Respecting the staff gets you respect in return it seems, so keep that in mind!

90% of the food was lukewarm and not fresh. The crab Rangoon tasted sour. I'll never come here again. Complete waste of money. I think the health department needs to check this place out for food temperature. Gross!!!

Food was ok, fresh and hot. Restaurant was clean and staff was friendly. Not a lot of selection on the buffet, I think there was nearly as many desert option as there were food items. For the money we had 2 adults and 4 kids and spent around 100. Was not impressed.

Just 4 other people in the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. I was worried about how long the food was sitting out.

Dry, old food on any days where business is slow

For a place that I've gone to for many years it sure has lost its quality and care.
The pricing has gone up from what it used to be which isn't helped by inflation, the food quality has not improved though. Recently we went on a Wednesday around lunch time and the food was not very fresh and seemed like it had been out for a while past its time, the crab rangoons are a good example as they were very dry and you could taste that they had been in the warmer for a while, Some of the sushi tasted like it was made with day old rice and was very dry, one of my favorite ones, a deep fried shrimp ball, was very cold and I felt very ill after that day. I was the only one In my group to have that one specifically and what I had was symptoms of food poisoning, most likely the shrimp had been out for a few hours past the temperature danger zone.
I wasn't very impressed with a worker actively sorting string beans on a table with no cloth down or gloves, just right in the dining room, it doesn't seem very sanitary to me working with food out in the dining area where customers are coughing and eating.
The service was ok, they are always very polite and good about refills with water, I can't help but to be unimpressed with the food quality and carelessness of making sure food is fresh, sorting food on a table with no protection, and serving cold food is never ok.
Please do better and make some changes.

The manager called me "special garbage" because I told him the food was not good. The waitress cleared the plates from the table before the manager could come so he thought I had eaten my food. Best I could show him was napkins full of chewed up and spit out out food....
He offered 30% off...
"Dooood, this was my daughter's birthday dinner! No. I'll give you ten bucks."
"NO TEN BUCKS"
"Cool, you don't want my money, I'm out."
This is where the waitress steps in front of me, puts her arms out and tells me I have to pay... Ooooooooh! I don't remember the right term for this but it falls in the realm of abduction now... ??‍♀️The manager has been going on about cameras and calling the police...
"Please do! Tell them I'm upset that you are serving garbage, you don't want to be reasonable, and I'm not allowed to leave the building. I'll wait." I sit down.
He says "$20."
I say "No."
"You the only one with a problem. $15... Everybody else like the food! You special!"
(Maaaan, that sounded like a challenge to survey the 6 other people in the building, but I let it go. I could feel something good was coming.)
"I'm special?"
"You special garbage"
Lmfao "Ya know what. That's worth$15. Let's go..." ??? I did not realize how much fun it could be to argue with strangers in public! He did not know what seeds he just planted in my mind. ?

So, if you feel like bad food and a good fight, this is your spot!

Chinese restaurants need to be all about the food. East Garden deserves to be on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. The health department really should shut them down for food temps alone. Don't eat here. I no longer want Chinese food.
