El Centenario Mexican Grill is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants in Kentwood! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and beautifully decorated with a modern yet authentic vibe. The service is outstanding friendly, attentive, and quick.

The food is absolutely delicious! I had the whole fried fish with rice, fresh salad, and roasted jalapeño, and it was cooked perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful inside. The portions are generous, the ingredients are fresh, and the presentation is beautiful. Their rice is full of flavor, the veggies are crisp, and everything tastes homemade.

Whether you’re craving authentic Mexican cuisine, looking for a great family restaurant, or want a fun spot for drinks and dinner with friends, El Centenario is the place to go. Great food, great drinks, and a true taste of Mexico right here in Kentwood. Highly recommend!

This is my second time here. Staff is always smiling and helpful! The menu is overwhelming but if you have any questions they are happy to explain everything to you. Drinks are the bomb I love the michelada. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

A must try Mexican restaurant if you’re on the southeast side of Grand Rapids. A vibrant interior with many TVs and a bar, complimentary chips and salsa, and good/quick service. Their menu is huge (can make the decision making a little difficult). Party tried the beefy queso dip to start (their ground beef is heavily seasoned and tasty). Then we tried the fajita taco salad with chicken and the #20 combo. The chicken was seasoned well and was so juicy, and the combo platter was delicious too. The portion sizes are definitely worth the money. Only “downside” is they serve Pepsi products (but they do offer alcohol and many flavors of Jarritos). We will definitely be going back again.

Nos gusta mucho! This is our favorite Mexican restaurant ever. Their molcajete is top notch and large enough for three hungry teenagers to split. You will not be disappointed. The birria pizza is also pretty great. We suspect that other food is equally good, but as with most restaurants, some things are better than others. Try the molcajete your first visit and go from there. Regarding drinks, the large mugs of Dos Equis Amber are a reasonable price, and the margarita specials during happy hour will rock your world. One is enough and two will make you worthless for the night. Lastly, we always sit in the section staffed by a guy named Junior. He is a really kind and hard working dude. Oh, and if you like hot salsa, ask Junior for some of the hot green or red salsa that they have in the back. The flavor is great.

This is real good Mexican food! We were in from the east side of Michigan and this place hit all the right notes for us. Good food, service, atmosphere and price. We know where you are now!

Very disappointed! We go here often and do carry-outs. I got my order of double steak fajitas for my family and when I got home there were NO tortillas. Lunch was ruined by El Centenario! It will be a long time before I return!
