I'm going to assume that I caught them on an off night. The dining room was packed which is a good sign. I sat at the bar and the bartender greeted me and helped me with the menu. Made a great drink for me. And that's the only good parts. I had to wait forty minutes for my food and when I got it, the white meat chicken was wings that had been sitting, and a dried out chicken breast. The greens and Mac and cheese were hot but you could tell they had that reheated hotness to them. The cornbread was good. I spent too much money to get unsatisfactory food. And the kitchen staff kept coming to the bar instead of staying in the kitchen and cooking. I won't return.

The biggest bummer about the fact that we likely won't visit again is that the food is good. Everything we ordered was great, however the absolute lack of service is where all points are lost. They use a seat yourself, order via QR code service method which seems like a decent idea, but they are not appropriately staffed to take the onslaught of orders going in at a time. We waited over an hour for our food, had to ask 4 times for silver wear, and the bartender was actually rude when we politely asked where our drinks were that we had ordered 30 minutes prior. We felt there was no empathy from the employees nor concern for quality of service, you pay and tip on the front end so this isn't surprising. Again, food was great but wanted to leave an honest review of what you might walk into.

So the building felt off and a little run down, which is weird considering how new it is. The atmosphere and vibe just felt weird as well. With that being said, every staff member I encountered was really kind. The food was also outstanding and they had a surprising amount of vegan options. The fried green tomatoes were out of this world too, highly recommend!

We ordered 2 catfish platters with greens and macaroni, a hot chicken sandwich with fries and wings plus an additional side of hush puppies and sweet potatoes. Not ONE item was served fresh. The macaroni was soft/mushy and brownish in color. The catfish was heavily breaded but not seasoned, the turkey greens were clearly reheated and old with brown/old turkey meat. The breading on my daughter’s hot chicken sandwich was so hard she didn’t finish it because it was difficult to bite into. The breading on the hush puppies was old and hard. The cornbread was ok, it tastes homemade. I also didn’t appreciate they collect the tip before the food comes out…We were very disappointed with our experience.

Was so excited to try this place. It looked so authentic! The service was terrible, the food was awful. The place itself was kind of cool if the staff and food was better!

Food was overcooked. Tasted like it had been under a heat lamp for hours. Hot chicken sandwich was over sauced. Not really hot, just really salty. Po’ boy sandwich was delicious but not a lot on it. Mostly a lot of bread. Dirty rice was very similar in texture and quality to microwave-in-bag rice. No one checks in on patrons. During the entire meal the only time we interacted with an employee was as our food was delivered. Will not be back

Got the soul rolls as an app. Not bad.My wife got the brisket sandwich and said it was decent. I ordered the chicken sandwich...I got it an hour after my wife got her meal gone, covered half the bun and the chicken was smeared with Buffalo sauce. Will never be back!

I’m giving it a 3 instead of a 1 star rating only because I visited only once and maybe they were having an off night. I didn’t enjoy the meal that I ordered. The mac and cheese was mid… the sweet potatoes were like baby food. The brisket was too much fat and not enough meat and we were served a slice of plain white bread because cornbread was sold out.

We tried to go to a nearby Ethiopian spot but they decided not to open today? After a quick Google, we inadvertently found a new favorite. Top notch vegan options, choice cocktails and sangria. Very impressive. My wife and I are the best cooks we know where we live and it's nice to know we could still step up our game! We usually leave places w "we could have made that!" But this time, we were served! Tamu was the perfect server/bartender! (Just couldn't hear her over the music)Dietary restrictions: Top tier vegan options!
