Hubby and I decided for our anniversary to unplug and explore Grand Rapids dessert shops. Gaby’s Gourmandise skyrocketed to the top spot and stayed there! When the last keylime pie sold right before us, Gaby stepped up and created one right in front of our eyes. Letting us sample another filling as we waited. Each dessert we got was so fresh, light and airy and punched with flavor! I can’t pick a favorite… the frasier amazing, the keylime transports you and the fruit tart tastes like you just picked the fruit. Thank you Gaby for going above and beyond, you made our special day even more memorable 🥰

I went yesterday to the downtown market to grab lunch and couldn’t resist stopping by! I asked Gaby what his favorites were to help me decide what I wanted to get. He ended walking through the cases pointing out several, and with each item he was able to share a personal story about why he liked it. The service was incredible, the food was AMAZING. I will be coming back soon!

The cream, with its well-balanced cinnamon and sour notes, complements the nutty goodness of the carrots and nuts within the cake. The subtle sweetness of the cream adds to its luxurious feel. The crunchy texture of the nuts and carrots in the cake pairs nicely with the moist cake. The puff pastry, too, is delightful, with its chewy bread filled with a cream that offers a subtle sweetness and rich flavor.

As a French family, we are grateful for Gaby’s. The pastries here are in many cases better than what you can find in France because Gaby and his team make everything from scratch. The choux, cannelés, and galette des rois are not to be missed. Merci, Gaby!
