It's a great place. Nice folks at work there and the banana cream pies are the best. I've been buying them for over 20 years. Keep up the good work

This is an absolutely great breakfast place. Our travel baseball team was playing not to far and we went both days we were in the area. Our group was about 20. Our server was amazing, fun and gave us a hilarious hard time( more me than any). The food was great and quick. We also had a birthday, the staff and all guest sang happy birthday to my son. Thank you.

I'm stunned.
I don't normally leave reviews, but I have to bring attention to how rude I was being treated here. Yeah, she tried to play it off as a harmless joke and as if she weren't making fun of my choice of food... She told me it looks and tastes like dog food, and it used to be my favorite breakfast. I like what I like, I don't want to feel put down or gross because of it.
Not only did my waitress make fun of my choice, but she forgot the side of bacon I ordered and didn't even notice I needed it.
Try being more meticulous, and try being kind.
Because now I don't think I can eat corned beef hash from a can anymore, and I'll gladly blame the waitress for it.

Stopped in for breakfast order the waffle the server told me that the waffles were small and I said I was okay with that. When the food was delivered and I took a bite of my waffle and discovered that there was sugar all over it was just a turn off. I looked at the menu to see if it said anything on it regarding sugar on the waffles and there was nothing of that factor otherwise I may have changed my mind on ordering that. And then asked the server why it does not say that on the menu and all she could say was I don't know and walked away. It'll be awhile before I come back if I come back.

Though I’ve known about it for 15, this is the first time I’ve finally stopped in for breakfast. Tucked away in a side road not far from the end of 28th Street makes for a nice not so out of the way location.
Inside is a quaint rustic vibe. Well kept and just enough decor makes for a warm environment. The dining area has a two seating areas, with both being about equal in size. They have a case with a small selection of baked goods, which likely offers more selections during the Summer and Holiday seasons.
Staff is constantly on the move, and always pleasant. My waitress did commendable at keeping my coffee refreshed (and very hot) while waiting for breakfast to arrive. They serve fresh cream with and have the usual sweetener option packets at the table should you want.
Seeing the kitchen was serving both sides, and about twenty guests when I arrived, the wait time was average (about 10 minutes) for my food to arrive. The omelette I chose was nicely prepared. They were not skimpy on any of the ingredients making it a great value. They also were cooked just enough to have a nice texture. If you are used to typical roadside diners you may find the veggies a little watery. This is not a complaint as I thoroughly enjoyed all of my omelette before delighting in the sourdough toast. The eggs were prepared clean and had no hint of being overly oiled or buttered in their cooking. The toast had a nice crispness, was not burnt, and lightly buttered on one side. Jam at the table was the standard 1/2 oz prepackaged variety, but other options were available (like cream cheese) for a nominal charge.
In short, this is a nice stop and I would not hesitate bringing family, clients, or friends for a meal.

Food is always top notch and a good price. Food could be slightly more expensive imo and would still be worth it. Every single staff member is extremely polite and wonderful!

First time customer from out of town and tried the place after a random search for breakfast .
Loved the quaint atmosphere and were reminded of some of the great local places we have up north.
The place was just about full,
8 of us came and we we're easily accommodated.
Service was excellent and on the spot.
The menu was not large but the choices were perfect.
Our food was served quick and it was excellent.
Pancakes as big as your head!
Would recommend this spot to anyone and we will definitely be back as we visit the grand rapids area from northern Michigan frequently (traverse city area).
