We did a private tour of Grand Rapids Coffee Roasters. It was a group of 4 and lasted 1.5-2 hours.

When we arrived we were welcomed warmly. Craig and Stephanie (I think?) offered us a glass of their cold brew to start out. It was delicious!

Craig walked through everything you could possibly think of related to coffee including:
- Types of plants
- Harvesting styles
- Extracting the “beans” (pit) from the cherry
- What “cupping” is
- The buying of the beans
- Showing us the raw “beans” and letting us feel and smell them
- Discussing the quality of the product
- Discussing roasting and differences
- Discussing the brewing methods etc
- The tour also includes selecting raw beans and roasting them and taking them home
- Craig also discussed the history of GRCR and his visiting of various farms
- A demonstration of the perfect pour over
- Each person received a gift bag with a pen, sticker, coffee mug, and 12 oz bag of the coffee that we roasted.

It was a lovely personal tour. Craig answered all of our questions and was extremely patient. We had a lot of questions! I highly recommend doing the private tour if you are able.

I stopped in on a recent trip to Grand Rapids for the Saturday Coffee Experience and it was great. The owner took the time to answer questions and was really knowledgeable. We learned a lot and got to sample a really great brew. I’ve already gone through the coffee we picked up and all of it was fantastic. Can’t wait to go back on my next visit to the city.

What a unique and fun time. Craig was great to spend time with and full of knowledge. You will definitely learn new things and have some great coffee, not to mention a gift bag to take home. Thanks for a memorable afternoon!

My husband, daughter and I booked a tour during spring break and are so glad we did! We learned so much and Craig and Steph were very attentive, took their time and answered all of our questions. We were able to pick a coffee and see it roasted right in front of us and then take it home when we were done. You can't get a fresher cup of coffee than that! It definitely changed the way we buy and prepare our coffee. Thanks for a great experience.

I work here, so I am biased, but this is the best Coffee Roaster in the business. IT IS NOT A CAFE! It’s a roast house. Grand Rapids Coffee Roasters delivers exceptional, freshly roasted coffee that highlights the unique flavors of each bean. Make sure to stop by Saturdays at 12pm for live demonstrations as well!

Grand Rapids Coffee Roasters is truly a hidden gem! Their Saturday experience is something every coffee enthusiast should try. Craig is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about coffee. He takes the time to explain the roasting process, the origins of the beans, and even offers tips on brewing the perfect cup at home.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and you can really tell how much care and effort goes into every roast. The coffee itself is outstanding—so fresh and full of flavor. It’s not just about buying coffee; it’s about learning and appreciating the craft behind it.

If you love coffee, make sure to visit Grand Rapids Coffee Roasters and spend your Saturday morning with Craig. You’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for coffee and a bag (or two) of the best beans in town!

GRCR is the coolest coffee roaster/experience out there. Love talking with and learning from Craig and I really appreciate the effort he puts in to partner with ethical and quality coffee farms around the world

I have been buying Grand Rapids Coffee Roasters for many years. The coffee has a full flavor profile and they will roast it to your liking light or dark. While they are a roasting facility, not a coffee shop you can stop by on Saturdays for demos and tours that are very cool. Go check out “The Saturday experience” you will love it.

Highly recommend dropping by for the Saturday experience! Not only do you get to taste single origin beans but Craig and the staff are incredibly knowledgeable in discussing brew methods and providing recommendations.

The anaerobic Ethiopian is literally one of the most well prepared cups I've ever tasted! I had been trying out different roasters in town and from bigger cities like Chicago and Portland but now that I've found this place I'm happy to be a returning customer for all my whole bean needs

Gave a wonderful demonstration on how to make the best pour over coffee I've ever had, AND a member of the staff gave me plenty of tips on how to improve my espresso making at home. Talk about a hidden gem.

Amazing coffee. Best place in Grand rapids to get coffee. I don't think there is a more knowledgeable staff on everything coffee.
