I have lived all over this country; eaten fried chicken in 25 states so far. Hancock is by far my favorite restaurant not only for their chicken, but for all of their sides and desserts. The drop biscuits and jam are beyond compare. Hancock needs to be voted Best Hidden Gem in Michigan and I only say “hidden gem” because I have driven past it numerous times and never realized what I was missing. Please never change your recipes. Lastly, their price point is ON POINT. Compare the quality/quantity to BBW, KFC, Popeyes, or any chain restaurant “family deals” and see for yourself.
The food, drinks, price, and service were a 10/10! The loaded fries were TRULY loaded and at such a great price. The jerk sandwich and smash burger were both delicious and the perfect amount of food. The slushies were so fun and didn’t taste skimpy on the alcohol. Even though the restaurant was pretty empty, we had multiple people come up and ask us how our meal was and if we needed anything. The servers were kind and attentive! I would definitely come again and recommend to a friend

My family and I really enjoyed our time at Hancock. The menu is simple yet offers a nice variety of chicken meals. I was pleasantly surprised to have hot chicken tenders; and they were delicious!
The ordering process was simple and the service was quick. We had a few different servers visit our table for food delivery and drink refills and everyone was very polite and kind.
The inclusion of yard games in the open air dining area was a special treat. Giant Jenga, Connect 4, Cornhole, and Table Tennis were all available and looked to be in good condition. There were many children playing with the variety of games and it made the experience much more inviting.
We were all impressed with Hancock and look forward to returning!

This restaurant is incredible omg!! I pass by here all the time and i told my fiancé enough is enough, it’s always busy and looks popular we HAVE to stop. We did and my oh my we we blown away by the friendly service, great atmosphere, and even better food! They have corn hole and other out door stuff or seating inside, they have great take out if you want a chicken dinner or something to go. This restaurant is absolutely incredible and by far one of my new favorites in town. Highly recommend!

What an excellent business and an asset to the Eastown community. The outdoor seating and recreation area is unmatched, and beloved by both diners and passers-by. I have ordered here twice in the past week since I am moving. Both times were delicious, I have zero complaints about the quality of food. The only thing that sticks with me negatively is the price point. It costs $13.49 for a sandwich with a single side. The sandwich is not very large and the side is nothing special, either. Chikfila offers a MUCH better value (~$10) and portion size for what you pay. Both Hancock and Chikfila are chains, and both use standard antibiotic-treated chicken. Hancock needs to be more competitive- I just won’t go out of my way to eat here again with these prices.

Food was really good placed a order for the first time on Saturday. Had some issues with my order but I didn’t realize the error until I got home. I thought I order the tradition chicken but I got the hot chicken which we were not able to finish since it was too hot to eat. I’m not sure what to do about this we ordered a full chicken and couldn’t finish the first box. I couldn’t call in because I drove from Rockford.
Most delicious cornbread ever! We sat outside on a beautiful night. We had the cornbread-so good - and the Brussels sprouts salad with sweet chicken. Loved the lime salad dressing and chicken was yummy.
Friendly hostess.
Only downside was we had to pay for pricey parking because we couldn’t find street parking.

When people come into town to visit, we often take them to Hancock’s for lunch. Food is great (I seem to always order the same thing because it’s so good). Prices are reasonable, nice menu selection, friendly staff. They also have a take-out window which is great way to grab dinner for home after work. Been coming here for years and appreciate having a restaurant that reminds me of the southern food I had as a kid.
