Food was good, and service was good. Wine pricing was not in line with similar restaurants. $10:00 for a small pour “meh” glass of Chardonnay was ridiculous!! No wine by the bottle was offered. I won't be returning.
Food was delicious as always. We sat for almost 30 minutes before our drinks were brought out. Our appetizer was brought out with our food. I understand the restaurant was busy, I was just surprised the app or drinks weren't comped for the wait. The temperature was also very warm.
We sat at a high top in the bar area and had great service. We ordered the cosmic fries and the killer mac which were both excellent.
Quite literally the worst restaurant experience we've ever had. Went for the free kids breakfast, however they were sold out of waffles. Proceeded to wait over an HOUR for our food that came not only inedible, but also incorrect. Forgotten cookie on kids plate, forgotten potatoes on adult plate. Food was cold. Both eggs had to be sent back.. rubbery, overdone. We all felt sick afterwards. We were so excited to take our daughter for her birthday brunch and ended up leaving speechless. Thank goodness the manager took care of the bill, despite being emotionless and unapologetic. Will spread the word to everyone about avoiding this place at ALL costs.
Jenna was outstanding in service to our table! She made the whole experience better! Thank you!
We went Sunday around noon for my birthday lunch. The hostess seemed like she hated her life. The server we got, Sarah, took forever to take our orders (drink + food) & honestly she didn’t seem to be enjoying her time either. Drinks could have been better, we just assumed someone was in training. Food was alright but took well over 30 minutes to come out. We all got appetizers. The truffle fries thankfully did not disappoint. Other than that, not recommending this HopCat to others. I wasn’t expecting anything crazy or even special for my birthday lunch. Just good service & drinks. Sadly got neither.

I used the online app to make reservations for us, a small group of three, because of the time we would be there would be a peak time. This worked out extremely well because as soon as I arrived my table was ready. Having the menus available online helped remove all the time wasted trying to figure out what I wanted, which allowed more time with the people I was meeting. I'm not a beer drinker, but I have friends who are they love the place because of all the options available. No need to drive to all the pubs and breweries when they are all in one place.
The bartenders are friendly and talented.

Waiter was amazing but my chicken sandwich was raw inside . He took it back ,apologized and asked if I wanted something different. I politely declined because it already took a while to get the food the first go around . It was pretty busy on a Thursday.

We recently visited HopCat on East Beltline for lunch, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. Despite the place being nearly empty, we experienced a surprisingly long wait for food. When the food finally arrived, it was mediocre at best—not terrible, but nothing to rave about either.
With the current prices, the experience felt underwhelming. With so many great dining options in Grand Rapids, I can’t say I’d recommend HopCat based on this visit.

Disappointed that there was no Oktoberfest beer available from the special beer menu, even though there’s still a week left in the program. Was really looking forward to enjoying it as advertised. Definitely a letdown for an Oktoberfest celebration.

This place used to be hopping, now it's just a ghost of what it used to be.

Service was great! Craft beer was yummy, and the Elote Queso was an acceptable vegetarian choice and tasted delicious!

Great space, ample seating and a good vibe. The menu changes, like all place, but never so much that nothing you're used to is still there. Staff is incredibly friendly and upbeat.
