This is genuinely my favorite place in Grand Rapids to get a drink, summer time is BEAUTIFUL there on the balcony and so winter but it's SO cold!! Yes it's GR and Michigan it's going to be cold but if there was more fire places or even those big silver standing heaters it would be AMAZING in the winter!! Either way its great and I will always go back!!

Such a fun and unexpected spot! You enter through a keypad door in the hotel, which adds to the whole speakeasy vibe, and once inside, it opens up to an amazing view of the city. The space has a funky, modern feel—neon signs, bold colors, and a laid-back atmosphere that makes it easy to hang out. The cocktail menu was creative and full of personality, with playful names. It’s definitely worth checking out for the experience and the views, especially if you like something a little offbeat and different.

Just terrible. We had visitors from UK and Switzerland all of us over 60 - clearly over 60. One of our guests did not bring their passport and we were denied entry. So much for me wanting to show off Grand Rapids. Terrible. Just terrible treatment.

Waited outside in the hot hallway for 20 minutes and eventually left before the line even moved.

We only waited a few minutes for a table but were ignored by the waitress. The manager said ge would send someone else over and that didn’t happen either. The waitress walked by our table 3 times without even acknowledging us. They really don’t care about their customers

Pros: nice atmosphere, good service.

Cons: $20 for one cocktail is insane to me.

Be prepared to be shoved aside for a group of 6 in a mostly empty patio, I guess.

I was expecting a cool hidden gem in GR compared to night watchman or side bar and we got the most underwhelming experience ever. English garden drink was as bad as it possible could get. Guava lemonade tasted like someone just mixed country time with cheap guava syrup from Meijer. We couldn't even finish our drinks as they were terrible. The furniture was cheap metal stools with no thought or character whatsoever.

The code process was not a thing as nobody asked for it. You just showed up and someone just let you in.

This could've been a huge success and it just turned out to be a complete flop

While visiting Grand Rapids my son wanted to show us this very cool speakeasy vibe bar. We had dinner and wanted to stop for a quick drink. When we entered the code for access, we were told that we would have to wait a couple of minutes for seats to become available. This was about 7:30. There were two ladies ahead of us and they had to wait as well. As we're waiting between 20-30 people left the bar. As we saw workers coming and going we asked why we were still waiting and they said it would only be a couple of minutes more. At about 8:00 the ladies in front of us were allowed in. By that time there was a line of approximately a dozen people. Not even 2 minutes later the ladies came out and said that they now had a $10 cover charge for the DJ. I asked the person that seemed to be in charge and she said that a cover charge starts at 8:00. They kept us waiting until 8:00 so they could charge us a cover. What a scam! I announced very loudly to the the line of people that there is a $10 cover and the line disappeared. When we were asking questions they could have informed us of the cover charge, we weren't there for dancing, just a cocktail and the fact that the dispersed as quickly as it did, the rest of the people weren't aware of the cover charge either.

Very cool place above Ruth Chris. Feels like you're kind of special using the code for the door. Great atmosphere with outside seating area. No food. Pricey.
