Went to a large party here upstairs and all I can say us "top notch" from food, drinks, and service. Great place!

Gardella's used to be a favorite spot for my husband and I to go to when we went to downtown Grand Rapids. I guess too many years have gone by since we ate there because it has definetly gone way down hill. We stopped there on a Thursday night to grab dinner before a concert. We stood by the only "empty" table for several minutes waiting for someone to clean the table. We ordered a couple of seltzers and when they arrived my can had something sticky on the can. I should have asked for another can but decided to just deal with it. On another note the drinks were not very cold. In my opinion the drinks should have been much colder. We both ordered burgers and while not expensive they were not very flavorful at all. The cheese was just a slice of cheese, not melted, the burger was sliding off the bun. I don't know if they always used this same"recipe" for burgers or if my tastes have just changed but I am still regretting spending time and money at this establishment when we could have had a much better burger at other places. The pretzel bites were the only good thing about this dining experience. To top it off the music was BLARING LOUD making difficult to have a conversation.

The little bartender, Maddy is amazing! She was kind and cheerful and could make anything we tested her with! I will bring all my friends!

Ohhhh Gardelas. How low can you go! How low can you go! This place use to be a great bar/club. Sadly due to very poorly trained staff it's just not worth it. I have many many great memories there really fun nights. But the las year it's just been a nightmare everytime I've gone. Nope not any more!

We got our drinks and ordered food, 40 minutes later the waitress said the computers were down and that our order was not placed. Would of been nice to know right away as we were waiting to see a concert.

There's a lot of places you could go in Grand Rapids, and I personally wouldn't recommend this one if you're looking to hang out with friends and maybe dance a bit. I want to preface this by saying that we didn't order any food, so I can't speak to that, but we ordered drinks on the first floor, went up the the second floor, snagged a table, danced a little, and quickly left since this place was just NOT our vibe. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was not quite that of our group. We decided to go to Gardella's since we wanted to dance a little bit not pay a cover, but I would have rather paid to get in somewhere better than to have gone here. Pretty much no one was dancing at midnight on a Saturday, and there were some odd and unsettling folks at the bar. Also, the music was outdated, and so loud that it was impossible to talk in the seated area. The drinks were alright, but sooooo sweet. I tend to prefer more tart drinks, so I was disappointed when their drinks ended up sweet and syrupy. Overall, we spent about 30 min here before deciding to leave and go elsewhere. Wouldn't recommend if you've got a group looking to chill, drink, and dance.

Very disappointed when I was trying to order a drink and felt ignored the entire time. Ended up walking out after waiting 15-20minutes.

We went to Gardella's tonight before the Griffins game tonight to grad a quick sandwich before the game. There were four of us. We ordered a burger, two French dips, and a chicken Cesar Salad. Our food was complete s**** Apparently the ownership has recently changed and along with it the great great food they used too serve. The burger was obviously precooked from GFS. It had flavor, but not like a burger. The French dips were made with deli meat that was warmed up on a flat top or microwave until it was chewy as a tire, and my wife's salad was small and "ugly" for lack of a better word. Here's my message to the new owners. You are surrounded by dining choices where the food is both fresh and local. Shut your kitchen down and start over. Founders has sandwiches priced the same that are amazing.

One of my favorite bars downtown. Sometimes they have the upstairs and downstairs open, each with their own bar and vibe. Cheap drinks and cheap food. Their waffle fries and gravy are the best.

If you're looking for a place to waste money on drinks or just to hang out then it's not bad. The food however is. It seemed as if they tried to kill my burger by cooking the life out of it. It was super dry and was the bun. I hate ranch with a passion and I ended up dunking my sandwich into ranch just to give it some kind of flavor and moisture. The cheese stuffed pretzel bites tasted like they took some cheap Walmart pretzels, pulled them out of the freezer, warmed them in the microwave and served them.
