Attached a copy of a receipt for reference. Owner was very polite and greeted me promptly when I entered. Already had my sights set on an Italian beef, but decided to also order some onion rings and a Chicago dog.Italian Beef was a wet one, the only issue I have was when I was asked if I wanted hot peppers or sweet, or both, that there was a lack of transparency of being charged 75 CENTS for either pepper on my sandwich, on top of the price of the beef ($11 is about average for a price of a decent Italian beef). Chicago dog was good, I just didn’t get to it in time to enjoy it piping hot. Onion rings were crunchy and warm. Anything needed was at the table for condiments. It was quite dead or slow when I visited this afternoon, but still great music to listen to during my visit. I had to bring the service down a tad on my review due to the fact of all things I couldn’t find on the menu, is the additional charges for peppers that should come customary on an Italian beef, hot or sweet.Edit: to the owners response, I can gladly remind you that your business is located in Grand Rapids, not Chicago, so price accordingly. Along with the fact I suggest anyone looking to eat here go try Chicago Beef Joint down on Ottawa Ave. They actually factor in the price of peppers into their sandwich, not like this bonehead business that’s trying to sell.

The owner was full of himself and rude. Then would not give us what we ordered. When we did get our food the the order was wrong. The Chili was grainy and burnt from being in the pot all day. Don't waste your time.Side note.... I wish I would have read the reviews before I went. The fact that everybody has the same opinion of the owner Amazing!!! Apparently the public is wrong and he is right.... Ask him he will tell you, I'm sure.

Family went in to grab dinner, was told we couldn't get au jus on the side for the Italian beef? That's whatever, I got an Italian beef myself and the bread was overly soaked. It was falling apart 5 minutes after leaving. The beef tasted a bit strange too, different from Mr. Beef in Chicago and different from Portillo's. I was told that their chicken sandwich was good though. Chicago Beef Joint is a few dollars more but better in taste, atmosphere, authenticity, and are willing to put au jus on the side. Overall a subpar experience ?

Owner is a psycho and is selling his restaurant because his giant ego is burning his business. Food is better at Chicago Beef Joint.

I’m a bit late writing the review haha. But I decided to stop in cause I’d heard plenty of things about this spot. Some good, some bad. But I’m the type who likes to decide for myself.Walking in I was greeted warmly by one of the owners. I had an idea of what I wanted but wasn’t quite sure. She gave me a good suggestion of the classic beef sandwich with the hot Giardinierawith and fries.Food was phenomenal! Perfect level of heat from the Giardiniera, beef was hot and tender, the sandwich as a whole was thick as hell and delicious! Bread was soft and fresh and the dipping juice I couldn’t get enough of! Fries were heavily seasoned and just as hot and fresh! Crispy and delicious. Perfect fries in my opinion. My only “complaint” is it’s almost too much food haha. I was stuffed for the rest of the day and didn’t wanna think about food again for a good while after that meal haha. (Please don’t downsize on portions lmao.)Price for what you get is crazy good in my opinion! So much food for a good price!Atmosphere of the spot was super chill, nice aesthetic inside. Will gladly go back! Dunno why the bad reviews. But I genuinely enjoyed my time at Jack Dangers! Thank you for having me!Only wish you guys stayed open a bit later or were a late night joint! Would gladly stumble in and smash out an Italian beef after a long night! Super chill spot would be great to hang out after a long night! But I’ve got no complaints otherwise!- Tyler

I came in to GR to visit a friend and had a taste for a Chicago style hotdogs and stumbled upon Jack Danger's . I ended up going with a Italian Beef/Sausage combo with hot peppers. This was dipped and nice and juicy. It was like heaven. The beef is all cooked at the restaurant. Its not some Sysco contrived bland beef. It tastes like a great Chicago beef sandwich should. I also tried a Chicago dog and it was spot on. Well done Steve. Go Cubs!

Pricey and nothing special. The Owners outbursts and rude messages when making a suggestion make this a do not return.

I live in Chicago but since I have family in GR, I decided to give this place a try on 3/8/24. Walked in and looked over the menu, but was ignored for a good five minutes. I ordered a beef (as I would in Chi), but was surprised to have it come out lacking the usual amount of meat and peppers, and the bread was incredibly dry. The peppers weren’t hot at all; I asked for more hots but the owner was hostile, angrily asking me if I’ve ever had an Italian Beef — like I’ve never been to Scatchell’s, Johnnie’s, Al’s, Pop’s, Mr Beef, Buona, or Bari — please, come on!This place is a joke of a beef spot; a clumsy notion of what a true beef is, and a misrepresentation of what Chicago does best. The owners are horrible to their customers (and the general public — just browse some other review retorts) and the place is just a bad vibe.Do yourself a favor, drive to Chi for the real deal, and avoid this spot entirely.EDIT: the owner can claim what he wants, but I was in on 3/8 around 2:00pm. It was a rainy day in GR and I was hoping for a spicy beef to warm me up. Unfortunately, this restaurant couldn’t deliver that, nor anything close to an authentic beef. I stand by my review, despite the owners online harassment. Do yourself a favor and avoid this spot at all costs so that you don’t eat a fake beef or get harassed by the owner.

I really doesn't matter if you can make a sandwich if you're gonna be pretentious about it. I was one of your first customers and gave a five-star review, but after all I see is your ratings slowly go down and down because of the way you treat people. As a business owner you shouldn't even be paying attention to your Google reviews and more on how you treat people in your establishment especially since you're brand new and there are plenty of other places to go. Good luck, Jack Danger, LOL.FYI, if you really think people are out to get you, you really are paying too much to social media, and you need to dip those sandwiches more.Edit #1 Above is exactly what I'm talking about. Good luck to you, sir. Your Google rating just went down two points based upon my rating alone. Good luck to you, sir. I suggest we leave this where it is.*Edit #2, you actually counted to the number of people that came in and said I was an idiot.Good job. You can count past the number 10, but you still can't make a decent sandwich and are still very surly and pretentiousAt this point, this is hilarious.*Edit #3, I actually went into the location and placed an order under a fake name with my wife to see if the proof was still in the pudding. Still met with anger and a bad vibe. Good thing there are plenty of REAL Chicago Beef joints around.Last review??
