Thrilled I found my bbq place up here, I loved the pulled pork, collard greens were fresh not canned the cheesy pimento taters were delicious and the corn bread was so good

My boyfriend and I decided we wanted BBQ for dinner so we decided to go to Kelvin & Co. my boyfriend has been there before, but this was my first time. I was kind of excited to see what all the hype was about. Many of my coworkers told me they were pretty good. When we entered the place, no one acknowledged us for about a minute and a half, then finally the girl working the front said she would be with us. We kind of felt ignored, and was contemplating on leaving, then she finally took our order. My boyfriend got the half rack of ribs and their Mac and cheese. I got a small brisket sandwich and a side of Mac and cheese as well. When we received our food my brisket sandwich severely lacked flavor and any smoky flavor. My boyfriend's ribs were OVERCOOKED!!! They might as well have been pulled pork. He also only got like 3 ribs, that is not a half of a rack of ribs more like 1/4 rack! The grease from the brisket was making the bread on my sandwich soggy. With EVERY BITE I took the bun was disintegrating before my eyes. As for the Mac and cheese, I was really disappointed. It tasted like kraft deluxe Mac and cheese that comes in the blue box from the store. NO FLAVOR or salt in it and you can tell it had been sitting out because the Mac and cheese was sticking together. Also, There was a PUBIC hair in my boyfriend's mac and cheese!!! The BBQ sauce there was too WATERY for my taste, and didn't blow my hair back. Overall it was a dissatisfying experience. It is also too pricy for you get, to me the ice water I got was the best thing I had there. As for Covid precautions they did well, 6 feet spacing, they supplied hand sanitizer and the workers were wearing masks properly.

This place is a joke. We ordered DoorDash. The food came falling out of poorly wrapped tin foil inside a white carton. At least a half a cup of "juice" from the meats had leaked out of the boxes and were pooled up in the bottom of the bag. The Mac and cheese was absolutely awful and they sent all the sides in these little tiny containers that are about 1/3 of the size as the ones pictured with their food. They sent two small cups of sauce when we ordered three large full meat

A quality bbq joint must have good cornbread, especially if they don't serve the meats with plain white bread on the side, and this cornbread was so bad that it prompted this entire review. This was, without a doubt, the driest, crumbliest, nastiest, thinnest corn bread ever. I'm talking calling this cafeteria corn bread would be a compliment. Oh and obviously it came with no butter to help choke it down with. This place has the audacity to charge me 2$ for one single piece of nasty stale flat cornbread? Lmfao, get out of here with that crap. We don't need your lame, small side having, dry cornbread serving, stingy on the sauce butt in our town. Leave!

Great experience! The online ordering was so easy. The food was amazing! My husband thought the cheesy potatoes were a little spicy, but I loved them! And the corn bread was the BEST!

We catered in from Kelvin & Co. for Easter this year and the meal was fantastic! Everyone went back for seconds! The service was above and beyond too. They were quick to respond and helpful with my special requests. Will definitely be ordering from them again!
Sorry, but no. Mac and cheese was average. Beans, not so good. Pulled pork was dry. Having lived in Texas, this bbq wasn't worth it.

1/26/2020 update - loved downtown and West Main locations and Portage store does not disappoint. Ribs were meaty, tender and well balanced, brisket and other meats looked great. Sides & sauces continue to impress in quality and variety. Kelvin has expanded the menu with new sandwiches, tacos, etc. The $8 weekday express lunch with sandwich, 2 sides and drink is a steal!

This is their brand new location in Portage, and it's a welcome addition to the Portage fast casual restaurant scene. It's located in the plaza near Sam's Club by A Thai Cafe, and it's in a great location for lunch. The food is, as expected, excellent. We use them for catering for events at work, and I've always been impressed. I did think the service was pretty slow (in terms of getting the food on the plates before paying), but they're still new, and I'm sure that'll improve with time.

I'll get the ball rolling, this place is outstanding with food quality and service! Love the way the kids all have genuine smiles on their faces and believe in the product. You don't really see that a lot anymore in retail but this is a pretty cool place and the fact it's easy to get to you makes it a great lunch spot. Smiling staff, great food, clean bathrooms and easy to get to - I will take it!

Complete waste of money. More than half the brisket was fat or grizzled end piece, two wings were over cooked and tough, pulled pork was overly greasy, coleslaw is flavorless and watery, cornbread was dry, flaky and cover with the pork grease when it arrived. Only thing good or even decent is the jalapeno mac and cheese. Very disappointed. Ordered via grub hub.
