KJ Catering catered my wedding this weekend and they were so amazing to work with! We gave our guests the choice of smoke brisket or loaded sweet potato and our sides included their famous cheesy potatoes and sunshine vegetables. People RAVED about our food! I’ve never been to a wedding where the food was this good and I’m so impressed. I knew it was good when we did a tasting but I had no idea so many people would love it as much as we did. We had the zucchini marinara boats, whitefish dip, hummus and pita, and crab stuffed mushrooms as our apps. I have a gluten allergy and they were able to accommodate most things so that I could eat them. I am obsessed with the zucchini boats!! It was the perfect texture and flavor. The wait staff were so sweet and I had the pleasure of having Chef Kevin and Kat at my event ensuring everything went smoothly. We also had them cater a small breakfast for the bridal party in the morning which was equally delicious. Chef Kevin even dropped off two meals the next day for us to enjoy again. The only sad thing is that they don’t have a restaurant because it would easily be my fave place to go! As I ate the last bit of my cheesy potatoes while writing this review, I couldn’t help but hope I get the chance to attend an event catered by this wonderful crew again!

I have worked with several catering companies both for work and personal events over the years in Grand Rapids, MI. KJ is a versatile kitchen that is still willing to flex for a smaller event and has the experience, equipment, staffing, and infrastructure to do big events well. It is their attention to detail, commitment to excellence, and can-do spirit that sets them apart. They recently catered 175 custom appetizer boxes for a wedding reception. It was a last minute pivot with only a two -week turnaround. KJ took the concept, delivered it under-budget and WAY above expectations. And on top of that, expertly handled a request to deliver breakfast for 20 to our house for out-of-town family to visit. We could relax and they handled the rest. I recommend them without hesitation.

I cannot say more AMAZING things about KJ Catering! We had them for our wedding, and one thing our guests noted across the board was how tasty the food was at our wedding (we especially loved the chicken marbella!) Chef Kevin is phenomenal, kind, and caring. We also enjoyed the delicious leftovers from our buffet for days after our event! I would highly recommend KJ Catering to others who are planning a wedding! :)

We reached out to KJ Catering regarding brunch catering and initially received a response confirming that our location was within their service area. We sent our menu selections on June 28 and expected to move forward from there.

Unfortunately, we received no response until July 8—ten days later. When they finally replied, they completely reversed their position and claimed our location was actually outside their service area. Communication was unprofessional and inconsistent, with short, vague replies that suggested multiple people were responding without coordination or context.

Due to this delay and lack of clarity, we are now forced to find another caterer on short notice—something we could have done earlier if KJ Catering had communicated in a timely and professional manner. A frustrating and disappointing experience. We do not recommend KJ Catering to anyone who values reliability or clear communication.

I could not speak more highly of KJ catering! All of our wedding guests were raving about the food and service! Chef Kevin and his whole staff went above and beyond, my husband and I are just truly so impressed with the quality, taste and temperature of the food! Everything we could have hoped for! They went above and beyond and we recommend them for any event!

Needed to cater a luncheon for 50 with just a week’s notice. Not only did KJ’s come through and not complain about the ever-increasing head count, they provided an excellent lunch with a top-notch server who got everything ready early when asked to (with a smile!). Everyone loved it. Great job!! Will use again!

My husband’s family used KJ Catering for a family dinner after his father’s memorial yesterday. Gabrielle was handling the event, and she was punctual and professional and very sweet. She had everything ready ahead of time and it was set up beautifully. The food was hot and tasted as good as it looked - chicken, pot roast, mashed potatoes and green beans. Everyone was especially impressed with how tender the pot roast was. The salad, fruit and rolls were fresh and the desserts were yummy. Gabrielle was very attentive, clearing plates from guests and seeing if they needed anything. She was even collecting and rinsing our personal items just to be helpful. She bagged up leftovers for the family to take home, and left the kitchen in pristine condition. We would highly recommend KJ Catering!
