Had lunch for the first time here on the recommendation of the lady who cut my hair next door. As a "plant based" foodie, I was happy to have the selection I did at Zoup., however we waited "next to order" in line for at least 5-8 minutes before our order was taken. This is because all six of the staff were busy preparing to-go orders and could not deal with both physical patrons and digital ones. When I finally did order, I selected the Vegetarian Broth Bowl - a great sounding selection of (insert adjective here) vegetables, beans and leafy bits with a hot veggie lemon broth poured over to warm and coalesce them all into a meal. When I ordered, I asked if I could sub the French Bread that comes with the meal for a Focaccia. No can do - against policy. So French bread it was. While waiting for my "soup" we watched the line of hungry patrons queue up to the entry door - and watched about 20% of them turn and leave. When my order did arrive, what I got was a bowl filled to the brim with a tepid broth and in it was floating "roasted" (read: chalky balls of nothingness) garbanzo beans and lettuce. Yes folks, that's iceberg lettuce leaves floating in soup... I ate it all only because I was starving and $9+ into the commitment - but I will NEVER RETURN to Zoup again!

My husband stopped here to pick up a couple of bowls to bring home for dinner. We had never tried it before. I got the Maple Kick and he got the Korean Zing. When he got home we saw that they had given him one big container of broth for both bowls. I was supposed to get maple chipotle vinaigrette and he was supposed to get Korean gochujang sauce but we got neither. That was the only thing that made my bowl maple! I also got no roasted sweet potato, which I was looking forward to. My husband got substitutions on his without being asked and some things were missing. The restaurant is 45 minutes away so we weren’t going to go back for them to make it right. The bowls tasted okay but we would’ve ordered something different if we’d known they only had about half the listed ingredients for each bowl. I would’ve just sent them a message but they don’t let you contact them or leave feedback for their eyes only, unless you call. So I thought I’d do a review to warn others to make sure you get what you ordered.
