As a Bangladeshi here in Grand Rapids, I am always on the lookout for South Asian restaurants in town! Madras is a new Indian spot that my parents (the ultimate South Asian food critics) have been raving about since they opened - so I finally had the chance to try it out myself! I was so satisfied by this meal. I thought everything we got was full of flavor, and you can tell that the food is being freshly made. We started out with the Masala Dosa, Gobi Manchurian, and the Chicken Pakoda. Soo good! The dosa had the perfect crispiness, my mouth is watering as I write about it And the spice level was also perfect! For entrees we got paratha with the butter chicken and kadai chicken. Altogether, this was more than enough food for the four of us. The chai and the carrot halwa were also the perfect combination to end the meal. The restaurant is clean and the service was extremely attentive and efficient. I look forward to coming back and trying more from the menu!

Some of the best Indian food I've had in ages. I have several food sensitivities, and our server was wonderful about suggesting which foods would work and which could be changed for me.

Visited Grand Rapids today and tried the buffet on Sunday. Excellent selection of authentic Indian cuisine, including vegetarian. Not too spicy, food was delicious. Fast service and very friendly staff. I would definitely return to this fine Indian restaurant.

Wow! I absolutely love Indian food, and we have some really good options in Grand Rapids. Madras a phenomenal new option. The flavors are at the next-level, the naan is fresh, hot, and soft. The prices are super reasonable. It's sometimes hard to give a new restaurant a try, but I would implore anyone who wants authentic Indian and Indochinese food to check out this place.
We have had fantastic and the most authentic South Indian cuisine today! Superb!!! Idli melted into our mouth and Vadas are crisp while the accompaniment Sambar and chutney tasted just like home. Masala Dosa too was crisp, hot and tasty. Poori Bhaji made us go back in Chennai. We finished with authentic Gajar Halwa and YES the most impressive "Filter Coffee". Kudos!!!Vegetarian options: South Indian Options

We had the crispy deep fried cauliflower for our appetizer. I had the butter chicken which came with rice and a generous order of plain Naan . (It's rare that I don't have to order rice separately for at least another $5.00.) The presentation was lovely, the food was delicious, and the napkins were so nice I think they would stand up to a few hand washings. Can't wait to try the buffet one weekend
