Had heard good reviews about this place and it didn't disappoint. Our cocktails were great, for was delicious and the ambience was cool. I had the cocktail called Tamarindo which had a nice smoky Mezcal mouthfeel and tasted amazing as it was well balanced. The Baja fish tacos were delicious too. The service was average. They missed our appetizer, the salsa trio, and on being reminded they provided us a different appetizer, the guac and chips. The guac was fresh and tasty. They messed up the billing a couple of times and on being asked also informed us that they forgot to give us the Restaurant Week menu!
The food was absolutely wonderful. I ate the Fundido as a starter and the the boar as an entrée. There was more than enough in the portions. They also have a huge selection of drinks specializing in Mazcal. The only down side was that the dining room small so it was very loud. Our server was wonderful and the service was excellent.

Its been awhile since my husband and I came to MEXO. In the past we had enjoyed our meals and the ambience. We felt our experience last night was a little off. The mole sauce on my husband's brisket was rather tasteless and my meal of the skirt steak was just ok. We have applauded in the past the chef's creativeness and enjoyed our experience. The restaurant business is very competitive and I have an understanding of how difficult it is to keep a solid standard of performance so that people want to return. We have not written off MEXO but may take awhile to return.
This was our second visit to this establishment. The ambiance was good, it was a bit busy and crowded however we did not go for a quiet dinner. Our server did a good job, he seemed to be quite busy. He did answer all of our questions. When we finally received our dinner, we had to ask about our appetizer which they then brought out. The wild boar was just ok and the corn dip was not very dippy or street corn style. The drinks were good. Overall, I did not think it was worth what we spent and the time it took. We will go back though!
Great modern style Mexican food! Upscale. Presentation of the food was exciting. Phenomenal margarita's and cocktail options.
Hour and a half to get our order. Food was good / meh. Seemed cold after we were waiting for soo long. Had to hurry to get to our show. Will try again. But not in a hurry to go back.
5 stars across the board. Food and service were amazing.

Fantastic mezcal cocktails as always. I loved the Tamarindo. I had the mole boar and it was out of this world. Always, always love Chef Oscar's creations and the hard work his crew puts in.

The food was exceptional plated beautifully in each flavor worked with one another 10 out of 10 will be back. A great job to all the staff front of house and back.
The food was incredible. Servers were wonderful and spread just a little too thin. We will be back.
Stopped in for lunch over the summer. Nothing left me unhappy! Food was delicious and I would come back again. Next time, I would try this place during happy hour!

What appears to be a small Mexican restaurant located in downtown GR, turns out to be a uniquely presented gem with Big flavors. Much larger on the inside than it appears from the street, this casual spot serves up a much more sophisticated menu than it would appear. The drinks, app, entrees, and desserts all delivered and the service was great on top of that. Party started with their signature drink (Palenque Margarita) which is shaken/presented table side. Presentation was great and the taste was even better. Party enjoyed the queso fundido which had unique flavors and served with corn tortillas (need to ask for extra tortillas or chips to accompany). Then party tried the Carne Asada and the Mahi Mahi. Both were prepared and plated perfectly; bold (but satisfying) flavors and nice portion sizes. Then we finished with the flourless chocolate torte and the goat cheese churros. Both were delicious but hands down the churros were the highlight (the sweetness of the churros is perfectly paired with the goat cheese filling and the textures were flawless.) Prices are to be expected for downtown GR and the food you receive; overall worth the visit if you’re in the area or want to plan a night out.

In my opinion the best original high end Mexican food in town. Started with the guacamole and the three salsa appetizer (warning the deep red salsa is super spicy) with the Cafe De Olla coffee which was fantastic. I had the Carne Asada tacos - awesome - and the Queen had the Deconstructed Postor tacos, and I finished off what she couldn’t eat! I’m sure the margarita selection would be tasty, but we don’t drink. But their Diet Pepsi was extra crispy for the win. Highly recommend! ❤️❤️
