We got our wedding cake from Nantucket and it was perfect! The staff was flexible and so easy to work with, and we loved our cake. On top of that, they have some awesome and very reasonably priced pastries and desserts for anyone looking for a quick visit and sweet treat in GR!

Stopped by there last week to pick up some sourdough bread, and left with two types of sourdough, as well as a few other treats as well. Everything was incredibly delicious, and the staff that worked there were friendly and helpful.

I'd rather go here than Panera any day. The food, prices and service is spot on every time. My go to breakfast is the Ham and Gruyere or the Stomboli. I just wish they had a great espresso and my mornings would be perfect.

OK, first off I love this bakery. I think everything they make is delicious and their in-store service is excellent.

Some of their breads you have to order in advance. I called today, as I always do, to order bread and the person who answered the phone wouldn’t take my order. She wanted me to go online and order it — I whined that it took me too long on the Internet. She whined that she’d have to put me on hold to figure out how to take the order. What kind of customer service is that? Because I love this bread and because Nantucket is the only place I can buy it, I’m going to go and attempt to order it online this – but I’m not happy!

I absolutely adore Nantucket. The sweets are delicious and the staff is so nice! This is my go to on the weekends to grab a pastry to go. I’m begging you, please make the cookie butter cronut a staple menu item!

I had the most bizarre experience with this company that I can't believe is their norm. I had my DIL order a cake from them for our son's 30th birthday we were celebrating in Grand Rapids. The entire family was gathering for our other son's wedding and we decided to do a brunch the day after. The week of the wedding/brunch, the venue (Linear) I chose cancelled offering brunch services (seriously crazy--I have never heard of that either!). So I pivoted and the JW Marriott saved the day and offered to host our group of 25. The only downside was they wanted to provide the cake. So I called Nantucket Baking to cancel and they would cancel my order. They said I had to email my request using the original order email. The rep even talked to the manager who insisted on this process and would not take my verbal request. I explained the situation and that I was planning a wedding, rehearsal dinner and brunch and honestly couldn't find that email. Still, they refused. I couldn't understand why they were so adamant and had no way to help without the original email.

Fortunately the JW saved the day again and let me bring in the cake without a charge because I ordered one from them as well. In the end, everything worked out. And maybe because I was frustrated by the cancellation policy, I thought the cake just didn't taste that great--too dense and sweet. My big take away is SAVE YOUR EMAIL!!

The dinner roles with a lot of seeds on them (unsure the name) were the favorite of Christmas. The mixed berry danish was also a hit. Eggnog muffin was dry. Almond croissant and morning bun were fabulous.

We ordered a 6" Chocolate Raspberry Torte Cake for our wedding for October 13, 2024. It was DELICIOUS. Jenna was wonderful at communicating with me and answering my many questions. The prices are reasonable and we were so happy with our little wedding cake! We also did a tasting with them and everything was incredible - it was so hard to pick what flavor we wanted to go with. I can't recommend Nantucket Baking Company enough.

I ordered two pies over a week ago for pickup the day before Thanksgiving. When you order online you pick the day and TIME to pickup. I chose 9:15am. I showed up at 9:10 and there was a line out the door. Once I got inside I was told by other customers to go straight to the counter if I paid ahead and just had to pickup. The long line was for people who were “walk-ins”. What a relief!! Except when u got to the counter the workers continued to ring people from the line. I spoke up and was told I needed to get in line. What is the point of ordering ahead and paying ahead if you still have to stand in line with everyone else? Yikes. It took 30 seconds for her to grab my pies. Very disorganized, and no clear instructions from anyone working there on what to do. Also! It pays to order ahead…. I paid $23 a pie and in store they were charging $40!!
