Walk across the street & have a seat - trust me. I'm giving you great advice! On entry, there's a wait to be seated sign, next to a you have 2hrs to leave once seated type sign. Cool, must be a happening place. The gal took us to be seated, the table was already occupied so, back we went while they sorted it. She was nice & apologetic. We were given water & a moment to look over the menu. We'd really stopped by for a couple of brews on a whim from a wonderful stop across the street. We each selected a beer under the hops passport BOGO. Though staff acknowledged the passport and stand, the discount wasn't applied & we had to point it out. We passed on food, as we weren't all that hungry and, more importantly, our wait staff didn't show back up until both glasses were empty. As for the beer. I had the dark & felt it had a crayon flavor that I found off-putting, & I love dark beers/ adore nitro brews. As a non-IPA drinker, I preferred the double IPA. I'm not sure what that means... was the IPA bad since I preferred it? I just dunno. Anywho, there are multiple New Holland stops in the book that we won't be using. This was a 1 and done for us. They did honor the BOGO, but it took a bit. Overall, a disappointment, despite the awesome dragon selfie photo op

I like this place, I really do. However, when a bouncer at the door calls you a liar about your height, makes fun of you and "suggests" your real height on your ID, shows the others at the check in to make fun of you, then laughs in your face is completely uncalled for. Absolutely horrendous and completely disrespectful way to greet somebody coming into your establishment. I've worked in the food industry for almost a decade and any type of behavior like that would immediately be met with repercussions or a firing. You don't make fun of your customers in front of their face EVER. Shame on you guys. White bouncer wearing a hat if establishment sees this. Learn some class and respect buddy.

Dragons milk white, they need to bring it back! Not sure why they got rid of such a top seller. The whole reason we went to this bar. Everything comparable is such a high percentage. Sometimes you just need a lighter beer.

Met up with a friend for happy hour on a Thursday and enjoyed $2 off appetizers and cocktails. The knickerbocker had some delicious gin cocktails we enjoyed. Our waiter was laid back, but attentive and relatively knowledgeable about the menu to give us some good recs. We started with the spinach artichoke dip, which was fine. Not enough dip for chip ratio... but I tend to load up my chips. The pear salad was refreshing and full of delicious veggies including beets. Next, we sampled the chicken and waffle pizza. It was good, but mainly just a play on sweet and salty/ savory. I would've preferred if it was a bit spicier. I absolutely loved the pizza of the month, the chicken enchilada pizza. It was a great balance of flavors, just the right amount of heat and the tomatillo sauce for the base was delicious. The restaurant is spacious and modern. They have a store where you can buy beer or a growler to take home. Their bathrooms are so much fun! You can wash soap and dry all at the same sink. Happy we picked this place for a girl's night. Would love to come back.

Great service and even better food. We had a variety of items from the menu, pepperoni pinwheels are always a hit, but the Cesar chicken salad and the shaved ribeye sandwich were the winners of the night! 10/10 would recommend!

Dang, you have to come experience this joint if in Grand Rapids. Cool location, even better space and some of the best brews and food you can find. Samples some high octane beers and the polish with the perogi. All were great.

We celebrated my friend's birthday here and the dinner was great! I had a pulled pork sandwich and my friends had chicken salad, salmon and another type of salad.... I honestly loved how huge this place was. On the outside you would never imagine it having seating upstairs too. Even though they were busy, the service was still pretty great!

Always a great time at the Knick! They have one of the best bars & vibes in GR. We always get the pizza pinwheels to start. I decided to mix it up this time around for dinner and went with the "CLUCKIN' GOOD BOWL". This was very good, could've used a little more gravy but still. Think of this dish as a souped up better version of the KFC Famous Bowl.

Great location, great ambiance, and great beer I only had the beer here so I cannot speak to the food, but the place is big and welcoming, the staff is friendly, and the beer (stouts specially) are awesome It was really fun to try additional beers I am not able to get back home

Friends and I went here for dinner on a Wednesday night. Our server greeted us promptly and came at regular intervals to check on us. We started with the Buffalo cauliflower that was good and not too spicy and the pretzel app. Instead of melted cheese to dip the pretzel they give you a cheese spread. The fried chicken sandwich was good with homemade French fries. My friends had the grilled cheese with tomato fondue and the pulled pork sandwich. One of my friends didn't like the drink she ordered and the server replaced it at no charge. When I am in Grand Rapids again I would come here again.

Really cool vibe in a nice location of Grand Rapids. Love the options of beer ( Hazy River my favorite)and libations. Good bar food. Definitely a place to check out for a good time downtown.

new hollands pickle pizza is this is such a great option for large get togethers or if you're in a pickle to find a seat somewhere. the restaurant is huge!! and has outdoor seating. they have some really great beers, definitely recommended over the cocktails (i have been somewhat disappointed). i have mostly sat at the bar and had great service! street parking is available or a lot that's on the cheaper side about a block over!

I'll start positive & say that the building itself is beautifully designed & is quite impressive upon entry. Moving forward, all of the stouts I sampled were simply gross & I'm a big stout fan. In closing, my largest displeasure was that kids were permitted not only in the venue, but near the bar. No drinking establishment with an iota of self respect should have small children running around premises.

Everything here from the ambiance to the servers was amazing. I had two different experiences, one being a beer flight with a friend late while sitting at the bar. The second being with my family and 2 kids sitting in the amazing dining room for lunch on a hot summer day.The bartenders were eager to suggest and substitute during the flight. Everyone sitting at the bar had a sort of casual let's be friends feel to them. (Or maybe it was us after all the flights!?) They have many sours to choose from which I was excited for! Tangerine Submarine is one of my favorites! For lunch we had a salad, turkey sandwich special, and my kids (10 and 8) split the pinwheels. They were so pleased with the pinwheels and it was the perfect size for them to split! My husband ordered the house salad and added some proteins to it. He was very pleased with how everything tasted great together and everything seemed very fresh! If you are looking for somewhere to go, this is a great space as well. The bar and dining room have one vibe to them with the tallest ceilings I've seen ever! And then there's an adorable giant outside area that I just discovered that has yard games, tables, and standing space. Definitely check this place out!

I had been wanting to try this place even though I am not a beer person but for the food as breweries usually have good food. I went with coworkers and many ordered beers and really enjoyed them. For apps we got pinwheels and tater tots. Both were amazing! The tater tots come with pulled pork on top which I wasn't sure how that would be but it was delicious. The pork was tender and had good flavor. The tots are not what you'd except, they were different than what I have ever had. The pizza pinwheels were also tasty but nothing out of the ordinary, I would still recommend them. For main course I had the pesto grilled cheese and tomato fondue. The tomato fondue was really good but it is heavy on the basil so if you are not a fan of basil I wouldn't recommend that. The grilled cheese was okay nothing too exciting, I probably wouldn't get it again but it was decent. I would definitely go back and try some of the other things on their menu because it all looks delicious.
