2 medium 2 topping pizzas and some cheese garlic bread. Absolutely delicious, I highly recommend to anyone looking for a diner to relax and eat at. Unfortunately their grill and deep fryers are Out of Order. They fix ill give 5 stars.
Pizza was really good! They were short staffed, but that’s not their fault, seems to be the way things are now. Service was still very good.
The pizza we had for happy hour was very good. Nice bartender and good drinks. I'd have given them a 5 but because they had mechanical problems, 1/2 the menu wasn't available.
Atmosphere was good. Salad was amazing! The pizza was greesy with way to much flop. Didn't even finish my first slice.
Sadly, it looks like one of our favorite restaurants has gone down the tubes! ? We ordered up our usual: 1 cheese pizza, 1 pepperoni pizza, and 2 nachos. The pizzas were good (as usual), but the prices have gone THROUGH THE ROOF! At $27 per pizza, that’s way too rich for our pocketbook. To add to our disillusionment, the nachos - usually to die for - were completely devoid of the usual generous amounts of black beans, cheese and other toppings. Instead, there was an overabundance of black pepper and salt. Total cost: $80, plus tip. Gonna have to cross Old Chicago off our list of “go-to” restaurants when we want a special treat. 10-15-21 5:30pm
I had such a great experience here! I am in town for work and am staying nearby so I went there once on Monday and sat at the bar to eat and had the most wonderful bartender! I wish I remembered her name! The food was super good and came very quickly. It was such a fun atmosphere talking with the staff and even some other people at the bar. After a crazy year it was just so nice to sit down in a town i’ve never been too and chat with such genuine people. Because of this great experience, I went back for dinner tonight. Unfortunately my french dip was a bit too salty for me but after telling the hostess and bartender they took care of me! They made me a pizza right away and apologized a ton (which wasn’t necessary, it happens!) I will be in Grand Rapids for work in the coming months quite a bit and I will be eating at this location of Old Chicago each time I come because the service has been so great. I hope the bartender that I had is there each time I come.
This was one of the best pizzas we've ever had! We ordered 4 pizzas for our group, so we tried some of each. We arrived at 2:15pm & were seated immediately. The waitress was helpful & returned often to refill drinks & ask if anything else was needed.
Came in around 4 on Sunday excited to eat pizza. No hostess present one family waiting to be seated in front about 3 tables eating. Both parties plus now a third party waiting over 20 minutes. Wait staff on the floor pay no attention to the door. Hostess appears to come in for her shift talks to 1st party says she will find out about table. Never comes back. Busboy comes over and sits parties. He appeared to be the only one working doing his job plus everyone else’s today. No one ever came to our table once we were sat or even acknowledged us to at least get drink orders. Waited about 15 minutes before deciding to leave. I have never written a review but this was the worst experience I have ever had. I know places are short staffed but at least acknowledge the people that come in. But good on the busboy!
In a time when many chains struggle to deliver good food to the table, this place reliably puts hot, juicy, tasty dishes on the table time after time.
Waffle fries were great but burger was ordered well done and came out medium rare to rare. Disgusting. It was curbside pickup so didn't actually cut into until back home. The cheesecake was ordered with extra strawberry sauce and there wasn't much at all. I used to think they were great 10 plus years ago but am very disappointed. Won't order from there again.

Friendly staff and environment. It's a nice quiet place to get a good meal.
Very good food and nice indoor dining area
We had a great time. We sat next to the bar and everybody was friendly. I really enjoyed the Chicago style pizza. I'll definitely be back when I'm in Grand Rapids again.
Wow. I ordered a pizza on a whim and to use up a mail promotion card that had been sitting for too long... I'm happy I did. I never been here before so I thought I'd do research and read some reviews. People said "too greasy" "not good" "bad experience"... I had none of those things. I ordered a pizza for takeout and I was blown away. The crust is excellent. Nice crisp bite, not too greasy and great feel. The pizza itself a has a very smoky and earthy flavor. This adds character and sets Old Chicago a cut above your typical takeout like Dominos or Pizza Hut. I am very impressed and am sad that as a local that I haven't experienced their pizza sooner. Well done guys!
Ordered multiple pizzas and it was warm but not hot, I like a hot pizza. The beer was nice and cold though. Pizza was very good, we like thick crust and it was cooked all the way.
