When I was there there was great staff very attentive and as you can see from the food pictures, the presentation was awesome. We were there on a Thursday so it was pretty empty but the staff was if they were ready for whatever.

I have breakfast or brunch here every time I'm in the area, and I am never disappointed. The staff here is so warm and welcoming. The restaurant itself has a nice, clean, modern vibe. The avocado toast is the best I've ever had! 💕

Their French toast was better than I thought it would be a little slow but worth the price of admission
Stopped in for breakfast while in town and our waitress was so sweet and the food was great!
Enjoyed the Burger, great coffee, and warm/bright atmosphere!
The food was ok. Server was distracted with other duties. Menu in restaurant did not match menu on website
Went for a drag brunch! It was a wonderful time
You are a hotel restaurant not a restaurant people specifically seek out for your new and creative dishes. Don't get fancy with your biscuits and gravy. No brown gravy. Biscuits and gravy gravy is made with butter milk/milk, flour, sausage and sausage fat drippings. Give travelers what they are used to.
I had breakfast seated there, it was very decent; eggs and bacon with toasts. But I don’t know why the double expresso is served In a paper cup. Friendly service.
I had such a great time at Portico ! The lunch was top-notch, and the service was absolutely on point. All around good vibes. Def recommend checking it out

Such a terrible dining experience. We arrived on time for our 7:15 reservation for two people. First round of drinks didn't arrive to our table until 7:52. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. Maybe a total of 4 tables in the entire restaurant, and a second server was working. All night we kept having to remind our server of things we ordered because he kept coming back to the table empty handed, or just standing and staring at us from a distance. There was only two of us, it wasn't like we had a giant table full of people. Server told us that this was the last night of dinner service because the restaurant is permanently closing for dinner. Not shocked. Sucks because this restaurant is in the HEART of downtown Grand Rapids. We were there on a Saturday night and it was obviously not busy (for how busy the streets outside, parking were). No music playing in the dining area. It was so awkward. Worst dining experience I have ever witnessed.
Apparently it was their last night? We waited a half hour with a reservation to get service after getting water and nothing. We left and went somewhere else. I'm guessing this is why they had to close.
Menu is much smaller than on Open Table. There was nothing we wanted left on their menu. Had drinks and crab/corn hush puppies...need to just be called hush puppies because there is as barely any crab in them! Skipped having dinner,...left and went somewhere else . Very disappointing
My friends and I were excited to try this place, but unfortunately it was disappointing. We waited about 15 minutes for our drinks and it was not busy. When we ordered food, we were told they were out of flatbreads, shrimp, vegan reuben, and a few other items, so half the menu. We all got the asparagus Caesar salad because we didn't have many options. It consisted of a few asparagus and 2 slices of bread, no actual lettuce. The ambiance is great, just wish we were warned they were out of half the menu before being seated.
We were sat and we never had a single person come to our table. After 15 mins we left. No one even noticed. Such a bummer.
