I made a reservation, the person who greeted us was a man trying to be a woman, wearing a cross. That was extremely offensive!!! I'm not trying to be mean or hurtful but wearing a cross while dressing as a woman with a mustache is wrong beyond measure. The thing that's so offensive is that he knew it was offensive and he did it to get a reaction so he could claim to be a victim. I will not be back anytime soon, nor will the thousands who follow me. If you want to be something you're not that's fine, but don't bring it to work.

Food was delicious. However there is a ventilation problem. All of our clothing was smelling food afterwards.

The food was really good however the service was abysmal, we got more service from the people bringing out the food than we did from our waiter. Our waiter spent more time talking to other people around the restaurant than actually checking their tables. The other waiters seemed to properly manage their tables so I suppose we just got the bad luck draw.
As a party of two we got sat at table that had as much open space as a postage stamp, it would be better to say you have four people and then say two others canceled after being sat so at least you have space to put out all the plates / dishes.

The very best spot in GR for a fun date night or dinner with friends. Delicious food and exceptional service. Great tapas, drinks, and desserts.

Stopped in for dinner while visiting from out of town. They were debuting a new menu the night we came. We tried several of the new dishes. Everything was delicious but the acorn dish really stood out. The service was friendly and efficient as well. We really enjoyed our time here and would return!

Truly an unforgettable morning with Angel who is an actual angel best service I’ve had in awhile. Food is top tier here definitely worth every penny.
15 years of visits here whenever we're in GR or reasonably close. Still good flavors, value and service

Wow. Great evening. Goat Cheese Salad was fabulous (Tons of cashews). Recommend a flight of local beers and glass of Traverse City Reising wine. Todd was best server I've had in years. Five+ stars. He cares about his customers and loves Michigan. It shows. Go to San Chez and hopefully you get Todd!

First visit to Grand Rapids—impressed w service, drinks, and food here. Liked the atmosphere except music was a little bit loud. Loved their fresh salad w red grapes, blue cheese, and honey toasted cashews. My friend and I really loved the small plate dishes! All were great!

San Chez Bistro is beautiful inside and out. Their staff is knowledgeable about allergies, and they have a guide to the major allergens that tells you what is safe to eat (green), what you can eat with modifications (yellow), or what you can't eat (red). If you need a modification, it tells you what modifications need to be made. The food was delicious, I had the vieiras y tocino which is seared scallops and pork bełly. I also had a side of gluten free bread which came with a delicious dipping sauce. My mom had the Queso De Cabra which is baked goat cheese, tomato sauce, and garlic toast. The waitress did inform us that it could be made gluten-free by using the gluten-free bread but she went with the garlic bread instead.
The decor inside the restaurant is beautiful and even in the bathroom there are many murals which make it an enjoyable experience wherever you go 😆.
