Was a regular customer years ago…just returned this week to get some whole bean coffee and hot drinks….found the same great service and friendly help…was hoping they didn’t change the great business I knew years ago and lack of “coffee culture” pretentiousness and was happy to find that my fears of change didn’t happen here…great local business..

Schuil Coffee has quickly become my favorite spot in Grand Rapids for not only its exceptional drinks but also its affordability. The iced coconut latte, which is my go-to, is simply amazing and priced at a reasonable $5.83 for a 20-ounce specialty latte. What's even better is that they don't charge extra for oat milk, unlike some other coffee shops.Aside from the great drinks and prices, the staff at Schuil Coffee are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The girls working there always greet you with a smile and create a warm atmosphere that makes each visit a pleasure.The coffee shop itself is also thoughtfully designed with plenty of seating available, making it easy to find a cozy corner to work or catch up with friends. The aesthetics of the place add to the overall experience, making it a delightful place to spend time.Whether you're looking for a delicious and affordable coffee drink, a welcoming atmosphere, or a place to be productive, Schuil Coffee ticks all the boxes. Ordered a variety of coffee from Schuil based on a recommendation from a friend. Absolutely fantastic! Wonderful taste, especially when consumed black. Too many flavors from which to pick. Will definitely be ordering more moving forward. I also had mistakenly ordered a decaf variety- I noticed this and emailed customer service and they immediately fixed it before shipping my order out. These guys do it right!

The whole place has a very strong, sweet aroma of some kind of syrup or hazelnut flavouring something - didn't smell like coffee. I'm not sure exactly why it smells so strong in there.I got a pour over and it was bland. Really bland. Tasted like slightly coffee flavoured water.Also got an almond croissant. Someone needs to go back to culinary school. The pastry consisted of thick globby layers of barely cooked dough. One of the worst croissants I've ever had. For $6.If you like sweet syrupy coffee drinks this might be the place for you, but for me it was a fail.
