What an awful experience. The name is "Simple Sushi" which means no flavor. The rice literally doesn't have any flavor, it's plain white rice in the sushi.
We were the only ones in the restaurant and it took an hour to get 6 basic rolls, a fried rice, and miso soup.
To add to the experience, our food sat in the window for 7 minutes.
The fried rice was delivered to the table 20 minutes after the sushi.
Don't waste your time. Worst experience and sushi ever

We were not greeted and stood waiting to be seated for 20 mins in an empty restaurant. Once seated we watched the chef prepare several to go orders while we sat for 45 minutes waiting to have our order taken. I can’t tell you about the food because we left.

In the mood for excellent sushi and so much more, look no further! Honestly I can't stay away. Fresh ingredients amazingly prepared with artful skill; you can tell they care about what they serve. Beautiful presentation as well. Try it out, you won't be disappointed.

Food was good. Had a spicy crab roll + my aunt had a sushi burrito! Both had pretty good flavor, lots of color!
Service was decent, but slow. We had to find our own table to sit at & server brought out the menus. We had to ask for napkins, as they didn’t bring any when our food arrived. Food took longer than expected for being the only two customers there.
Atmosphere was more of a take out feel. There was one customer at the sushi bar and 4 dirty tables that sat dirty the entire hour we were there which I find gross and unwelcoming, especially because the waiter stood around. Bathroom was also very dirty.

Ordered carry out: sashimi combo B with a side of spicy tuna roll(34 dollars) with a sake (12 dollars), total price 55 dollars after tip and tax. Multiple items missing from order that were in the menu description, or expected with sashimi and a roll: no sushi rice (listed on the menu), no wasabi/ginger (expected with sushi). I checked the online ordering portal to verify those items did not need to be added on separately for an extra fee. The sashimi fish itself was fine, the roll was not spicy at all and a few of the pieces were poorly assembled.

Super chill place. Fast service. We really enjoyed the gyoza, rainbow roll, and a taro smoothie. Every was really fresh as well. Would recommend!

We have eaten here twice, and three out of the four dishes that we ordered were really excellent. One was just okay. I wish there were more interesting gluten-free options, but I appreciate that they label things gluten-free and didn't gluten me. I enjoyed the art on the wall as well.

The sushi burrito was good. Just overstuffed. Opened as soon as I touch it. Super small plate. Just doesn’t make sense. It’s all about presentation. Stopped in for dinner at 6 pm . The place empty. Was definitely strange with all the reviews and other restaurants packed. Overall not bad.
I go often, because the food is delicious. But I recommend ordering online and picking it up since the service is slow:)

We were road-tripping from Dallas, Tx and staying in Grand Rapids. We noticed simple fish online and decided to try it out! I had the teriyaki chicken, & my husband had the fish katsu. We also had a complimentary salad with gyoza, which was also very good! The staff were friendly, the food was delicious, pricing is a little on the high end. A little music in the restaurant would improve atmosphere a bit. Great place and since they weren’t busy it was just the staff and us. We had the. Restaurant to ourselves.

Absolutely delicious! Only reason service wasn’t a 5 star was because the hot food took a long while to come out. The waitress was attentive and kind. We had sushi, poke bowl, and fried rice. It was so good!!

New owner is screwing the pooch. This used to be hands down the best place in the area for a great price too. Last few times I have got it, the wait is way too long, (an hour for 5 rolls for the table when we were only ones in the restaurant for example) the food quality has gone down, and now another huge price hike. I hate to say I won’t be back… will miss the old simple fish
