Food is very good, although I'm not convinced it's quite worth the prices. Service is extremely friendly if a little slow at times. Atmosphere is top notch. Nice place to have a quiet dinner.
Please update your Google hours to match your website hours. Showing up after a long morning just to be turned away is a bummer.
Seriously, so happy we stopped in for a drink!!! Wonderful bartender named AUBRIE! We will be back for sure. Hopefully she is working!!!!
We had lunch and drinks and the bartender Aubrie is the BEST. She Absolutely made our day. Please pass on our gratitude to her.
Lunch menu was basic lunch items of soup, sandwich and salads. I was expecting a French restaurant.
Appetizers were great we kept having to wait to get drinks one after the other. I ordered the $84 ribeye and it came out barely warm when everybody else is food came out hot. I was the one that was paying for our group. I felt that our waitress Was maybe a little overwhelmed with tables even though it wasn't that busy the busser was actually more helpful than the waitress overall, I would not come back. I've been to quite a few upscale restaurants, and I just didn't feel the service was as good as other restaurants I have been to Also when you order a $84 steak you expected to come out hot
Good experience overall. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. My trout was pretty good, but needed another dimension - maybe roasted veggies instead of steamed. The service was quite mediocre - I think our server had a really big table or two she had to deal with that seemed to suck up her time. We weren't in a hurry, so it worked out OK.
It was my second visit at Margaux and JW Marriott.
Restaurant is modern well designed.
Bar area is my favorite. Just elegant, comfortable, nice ambiance.
Tasty cocktail also no alcohol good selection 🍷👌
Service polite and nice.
Food is OK / good.
Beautifully served attention to the details, I really appreciate.
I my opinion and other guests after eating 6 meals, is lacking flavor, flat taste. Breakfast buffet is not great too.
For this price I expect would expect more.
My opinion is base on comparison to Hilton and other Marriott’s.
Bar is Great 🔥👌
Service and food were both top notch. Little pricey but perfect for a night out celebrating. Enjoyed the views of the river while dining
Food was great, although overpriced, but not surprising for a hotel. The “live jazz” was a joke. More like karaoke.

As Titanium Elite members staying at the JW Marriott Grand Rapids, my wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Margaux, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the warm welcome and attentive service made us feel truly valued. Margaux offers a perfect blend of French-inspired sophistication and Midwestern hospitality. Every dish we sampled—from the decadent Foie Gras Torchon to the perfectly executed Filet de Boeuf — was a masterpiece of flavor and presentation. The Chateau Du Trignon paired beautifully with our meal, enhancing the richness of each course. And of course, the Bread Service, Beef Tartare, and Prosciutto & Fig were absolute standouts, showcasing the kitchen's dedication to quality ingredients and expert craftsmanship. The ambiance exudes refined elegance, making it the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. The staff's impeccable attention to detail ensured that our evening was seamless from start to finish. Whether you're a guest at the JW Marriott or simply seeking an elevated culinary adventure in Grand Rapids, Margaux is a must-visit. We will undoubtedly return on our next stay!
Took my wife here for her birthday and we were blown away by how good the food and service was. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy and our waitress, Melissa, made the stay top notch.
We enjoyed a sumptuous brunch at Margaux on Mother's Day. The food was fabulous and our server was very very attentive and friendly.
Very nice, but they were getting mayflies through their door and were having trouble controlling them. Only an issue toward the end of the meal. Everything else was top notch. Halibut portioning a bit on the small side, but very well cooked. Lamb was perfect. tableside steak tartare was wonderful.
Wild boar pasta was AMAZING! Now that's a dish you go back for time and time again. The goat cheese cheesecake was my favorite restaurant dessert I've ever had. And the Tea Thyme non-alcoholic cocktail was divine. The overall experience reminded me of my favorite French restaurant in NYC. I just wish we were there when the entire kitchen brigade were in action in the main kitchen. That's my favorite thing to watch in a French restaurant.
