Finally got time to drive in and check it out. As a cross country trucker my time is crazy and I was always getting back on the wrong days. Well, it was definitely worth the wait to eat here! Food was hot and fresh and outstanding! Can't wait to get back to GR, hopefully on the right days that they are open.

My wife asked me to go with her because she loves Southern Smoke but I'm a picky eater and it wasn’t nothing special honestly. I got the fried chicken, mac & cheese, and candied yams. The chicken definitely gave me a home cooked feeling but the mac & cheese was a little dry and bland plus the yams wasn’t sweet enough to my liking. Excellent service & customer service up until checkout though so I definitely support this establishment and its future upcoming.

This place has lots of ready to eat options. The food was hot & already prepared when you walk in. Served cafeteria style. Kinda looked like there maybe some construction going on there. Because there was plastic hanging as a wall divider. But overall I recommend this place to grab a quick bite to eat.

I had a catering for my mom's 75th birthday. The food was DELICIOUS! Thank you all so much..cya for my next event!!!!
Went and spent over 50 dollars for 2 meals, koolaid was warm, was asked if I wanted any separate sides then got home without my extra side in the bag. Called and got no answer. As a first time customer I’m very disappointed.

Always missing items. Doesn’t follow simple directions they just want the money long story short. Not to mention they didnt have an A.C in the building so the pork chops tasted old, most likely it sat out with no refrigeration. SMH. Can’t wait to move to Detroit. Black owned businesses in Grand Rapids suck!

Just found this little gem! Everything I had was delicious: ribs, cabbage, sweet potatoes, cornbread!!! The crew was exceptionally nice as well. Will be back soon!

Amazing food, very friendly and helpful staff (it was our first visit). I wanted some of everything. One dinner was enough for two meals for me. Couldn’t eat there because the city had caused water problems. I will definitely be back and look forward to eating there and getting to know the staff better.
