Steel cat is officially the worst bar in Grand Rapids. There are 2 female bartenders that are very disrespectful, racist people. They threaten to call the cops on innocent customers. Female Bartenders at steel cat tend to short peoples change$$$ without the customers knowing . Horrible horrible customer service just shut the whole bar Down or fire those female employees at this point 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎🤮

I used to enjoy my visits to the Steel Cat Bar, as it was once a friendly and inviting place to unwind and socialize. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been quite disappointing and concerning.
The atmosphere has changed significantly; what was once a welcoming environment has become increasingly dangerous. I've witnessed multiple bar fights during my visits, which has created an unsettling vibe. Additionally, it seems that gang-related issues have become more prevalent, making it feel like an unsafe place to go.
I genuinely hope the management can address these issues, as the Steel Cat Bar has the potential to be a great spot once again. Until then, I would advise caution when considering a visit. It's a shame to see a place with such promise turn into a location where safety feels compromised.

Overall fun time, but the bartender and barback(or doorman) were very impatient. I asked for a specific shot that they haven’t made before, but I tipped well (25%). They commented that it was annoying but I tried to be funny and lighthearted, yet they took offense to my response, so I asked for one shot before we left, and they said that it was on the house, but the tip was that I left. Oh well, I still had fun and got a free shot they didn’t ring in, wish they weren’t so rude. Still a great environment overall.

Not a bad place to grab a drink. Went here once with some friends and it was so loud I couldn't hear my own thoughts. Good place to just have fun, probably wouldn't go here again just cause it's hard to have conversations

The bartender was quite rude tbh. Not busy at all when I was there around 1230pm, but she definitely wasn't courteous, made me feel like I was a bother to her. She never gave me her name but she was a "bigger gal" with red hair. I had to ask her twice for a refill on my beer, even tho she made eye contact w me and walked by me numerous times. Just a very unfriendly experience. I was there before when a cute blonde w curly hair was there and she was so pleasant and friendly, but not this time unfortunately. Bartenders shouldn't make customers feel unwelcome for any reason.
